    I know this might be a bit tongue in cheek but I think Palmer playing would make a big difference. I don’t think any pro knowingly rolls over for any opponent. I can see that happening sub consciously if Palmer is out but more to do with negative energy more than anything.

    How could I forget Dele. Like Bentaleb a little bit older when he first joined but still under 20 and with big hype. I vaguely remember thinking/saying we should all chill about him, he’s not going to get straight into the team etc etc and he did just that and blew us all away.

    Yeah you also get the impression this has been what’s sold to him (obviously with the caveat of your keep your head down and train hard) I don’t think we managed to sign him by telling him you’ll go out on loan for a couple of years/play for our under 21s for a season or 2.

    I completely agree, kids should make up their own minds and shouldn’t be influenced or pressured in any way, which is why I simply told my son you can either support Spurs, or you can live in the shed on 1 meal a week. After a couple of weeks he made the right call in the end.

    To be fair he’s playing well below a level he should be. Hopefully he doesn’t lose that lack of fear when he makes the 10 step jump up to the prem league (assuming he doesn’t get loaned out) but I won’t hold it against him if he takes a good while to find his feet.

    It’s not over til it’s over but you do get the feeling, at this stage of the season, that it’s a crushing blow for them and very much “its happening again” type of vibe. Throw in a Kane Hatrick and them going out of the CL then hopefully the pain is just to much and they check out. Here’s hoping.
