    Tottenham Takeover Talk

For me, I don't think that is the main problem. The main problem is the financial aspects take the priority over the footballing aspects (the reason why the club exists), We have seen it with the players we target and we have seen it by the competitions we prioritise. Levy only seems to do...

Well he could put more focus on trying to win some of the competitions we are in.

    Manager Watch: Ange Postecoglou

My point is people are now saying we need to buy better players for Ange so we can compete with the top level clubs for the league and champions league. This is quite similar to what people were saying about Conte and others. For me, it doesn't matter who the manager is, if we want to compete...

    Manager Watch: Ange Postecoglou

I think the success the club is meant to be aiming for means you have to buy elite level players. I don't think any club has had sustained success at the top level without regularly spending a lot of money to do so. Spending money on its own isn't a guarantee of success but it seems to be a...

So that means we can rival the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and others when buying players? Because other people say we will never get to that level.

So you can't answer my question then? Is it because we all know why Levy built the stadium for and it isn't to benefit the football club?

Why did we build a £1 billion stadium then?

Spurs finances report 22/23 (swissramble writeup)

Fair enough. I am personally not going to hold my breath that we will start to see new significantly increased levels of spending over the next few years or start taking the cup competitions seriously but I could (and probably will) be very wrong.

I expect the footballing success of the club should be the main priority of the football club. The financial running of the club should be used to support this aim, not the other way around. I don't expect us to compete with the likes of Man City financially or spend like Chelsea have.

Spurs finances report 22/23 (swissramble writeup)

It hasn't got anything to with Davinson Sanchez. I think it is fairly clear over the recent years the club's main footballing priority is to finish 4th and 7th as this is the sweet spot where you can get the most revenue without having to put the extra investment into compete for the league (or...

I am annoyed the club prioritise qualifying for the champions league over anything else and the fans are happy just as long as we play entertaining football and the manager is a nice bloke who is good at press conferences. At least we are the richest club in London though, eh?

Well I wouldn't have to put a weakened team out against Fulham.

Yeah all of the top clubs have been burned by big money signings not working out, instead they are willing to take the risk again because it seems footballing success is more important to them. We had to overhaul the squad because we kept buying players in the mid-range and we didn't seemingly...
