If Chelsea get relegated, where do we rank Poch compared to Bill Nick?
If Poch takes Chelsea down, I'll genuinely forgive and forget this whole disgraceful episode of him taking that job in the first place

Yep. They overachieved for years, winning stuff etc when they came from humble beginnings. This is just readdressing the imbalance. The problem is most of their fans are fairly new so they don’t remember their history (the dog track anyone?) and hence why they can’t fathom this now. My husband is Chelsea and is just not fussed anymore (bit like I felt last season). You bet I’m loving it.Glorious
They could of course sack him, it just means they'd have to find even more money to balance the books. It would be more likely they'd put him on gardening leave to spread the cost, but even then they will need to bring someone else in which again costs.Assuming it's true that they "can't afford to" sack him because it'll plunge them even further into trouble re: sustainability etc, I wonder how bad they let it get...

Paying a 3rd separate manager when they have to raise 100m or so by July sounds like perfect business sense for such a financial savant like BoehlyThey could of course sack him, it just means they'd have to find even more money to balance the books. Really??Gone?
Think Rob's just asking if, not implying.Really??
I suppose it depends on the players.Think Rob's just asking if, not implying.
I couldn't see him getting sacked before the Carabao final because Boehly isn't Levy and Poch isn't Mourinho, but I'm less sure now. The financials do seem to be the main thing that might keep him in the job.
So true.PL teams need to learn and stop appointing coaches of fierce rivals.
Mourinho, Benitez, Conte, Graham now Poch.
The pressure is on them immediately and fans already have their knives out.
Said when they appointed Poch he would need at least 18 months to really get them into gear and he wouldnt even be given 6 months.
Well we are into 8 months and they want him gone.
So true.
Has it EVER worked? Hiring an ex-rival manager?
I can’t think of one example where it’s gone well, fighting a losing battle from day 1.
He’s probably still on the payroll tooPotter's still available?
Didn’t he get Southampton relegated then jump ship back to Pompey?Depends on the bar for "worked" but Arry did alright
To be fair we were fully behind Conte from word go. He was the master of his own downfall here.PL teams need to learn and stop appointing coaches of fierce rivals.

Lol true I didn't say it worked every time but certainly when he first joined us he turned around a team in a pretty dire situationDidn’t he get Southampton relegated then jump ship back to Pompey?
