Data showed Van De Ven was bad aerially...

Bloody good scouting on top of data shows he is as good as any player aerially.

Today, he was imperious in whatever he did. Bossed Mcburnie aerially, which isnt a easy thing to do.

Another box ticked in the list of doubts on his ability
Hmm, from my view McBurnie had the better of him in the air, but we adjusted and hoovered up second balls as the game went on. He was pretty much faultless in everything else he did though.

Hmm.

Not sure on that.

Through my eyes Mcburnie won the majority of headers.

He was still very good today.

Ok, let me put it this way. Winning aerial duels meant we won won the ball back in the sequence. This is why aerial duel data is skewed.
VDV did win his headers but there were some he didnt win. But he put enough pressure and body check to make sure we were always under control and able to get the 2nd ball and clear.

Winning headers is nothing, if player is first to head but ball goes back behind the head to give opponent a chance, like most of Sanchez headers .

At my son’s game with a Sheffield United fan who is convinced Mickey elbowed their keeper; I was at the match and it just looked like a collision?

He jumped into the keeper, forearm collided with his cheek but it wasn’t raised. Yellow about fair. Heckingbottom was being hyperbolic insinuating it was a red.

He is so fucking slick. You know how in Sensible Soccer the ball would stick to your feet when you were running in one direction? The ball is glued to his feet even when he’s sprinting.

He really is Jan 2.0.

The ball progression stuff will be unlocked later, in that regard he's being conservative IMO.
