Perfect for Ange’s high line by the way. At £40m not sure anything can be called a steal anymore but I would say he is uniquely suited to be maximized in our system than others. And he even offers flexibility to play as an LCB in a back 3 if needed. At just 22 as well. So happy to have him.

Really happy with him. And the back four more generally.

Plenty of room for improvement, but as a group of players I feel way happier this season than the unit we had last year….which was fucking dreadful

He & Udogie showed ridiculous maturity for such young defenders.
We have some real quality youngsters in Udogie, VDV and Sarr. All 22 or younger, could be mainstays in our team for years to come. Hopefully 2 or 3 of Phillips, Dorrington, Devine, Veliz, Donley, Moore and Scarlett turn out to be the real deal, if so we could be in a similar position to Arsenal in a few years.

it’s obviously very early but he and Udogie look great considering it was their debuts and they are so young, especially for defenders. If Romero gets back to his highest level and Emerson keeps it up we have the makings of a very good back 4 again.
