Hold Tight

Bayern came in with their big swing and surrendered the terms this morning on the verbal. Harry is now deliberating with his family.

Do we know what the terms are?

Knowing how we've been bent over I assume it's something akin to Willy Wonka vs Charlie Bucket...

Pretty annoying that Kane was supposedly leaning towards staying then why didn't spurs just say no more talks with anyone else, case closed.
I assume because he was leaning towards staying this season and keeping his options open about where he goes rather than 'staying'

So winning a trophy with your “boyhood” club or winning the Bundesliga I know what I’d go for. Realistically the only league for me that outweighs my argument is La Liga.

No guarantees we will win a cup, more chance of Bayern winning their cup and/or league.

Hope we announce the fee if Bayern are trying to disguise it to save face after the way they have behaved....assuming we got what we wanted that is
If we are smart we announce it as: “Harry Kane has decided to leave Spurs for Bayern Munich with immediate effect.”

Disappointed mate Levy letting the fans and manager down again.
We would off all been more accepting if Levy had a replacement lined up before the game in 2 days
I seriously doubt they will spend the full amount if any. So we will be short changed again.
I'm afraid you've had your head in the sand if this is coming as a surprise to you.

You can't replace Kane. Therefore we paid £60m for a new striker last year (succession planning?) and have bought a new young striker to develop. (possibly with another young striker coming in).

Dont delude yourself into thinking we're going to go out and spend £80m on a kane replacement. We've already done that.

Umm, I know this makes for a good post and all, but it's devoid of all fact.

Liverpool sold their captain to Saudi and Fabinho for between €50-60m

Neither Henderson or Fabinho get into the team they'd like to be starting the season with, and they've already spent 100m on Szozbolai and MacAllister which covers that.

Hardly the same as selling your best player, is it?

This just sucks. Would be one thing if I was confident the club would properly invest this money back into the squad. But I see it now, can’t make any signings until we have out going’s due to bloated squad. Levy can’t shift anyone to save his life and we are left holding all this money at the end of the transfer window with no time to get deals done.
Cynical bit not unreasonable, let’s hope you’re wrong.

It's all very hypothetical though. We haven't won anything since 2008 and shown no sign of getting closer to be fair. Bayern winning titles is a sure thing. Spurs is very much a what if scenario. He's already had about 9 seasonal attempts to win something here.

Surely Kane has to take the offer or sign a new contract now. You got your move, we got our money. If he says no and runs down his contract then his legacy takes bit of a hit.

Are their best players coming to the end of their contracts and not signing a new one though? If all criteria isn't the same then it's not fully comparable is it?

Ally Gold made a great point. This would obviously be brilliant for Bayern. But is it really that brilliant for Kane and family?

The fact is that the Bundesliga does not have the global audience the PL does. Doesn't do much for the Kane brand does it, go to a club to win a trophy they've won 11 times on the bounce?

Sad, sad day if he goes.
Could be a new era to promote Skechers to a German audience

It's also terrible for the (best league in the world!!!) Premier League.
