Yeah let’s just add a word that suits your narrative but doesn’t actually have any basis in fact. That’s really “honest”
Wtf, you know he was at the very least seriously considering going to Munich now and you think it’s not likely he goes next season when he’s free and has the whole world clamouring for him? I dont think you’re engaging in good faith here at all but whatever.

I recon Harry also wants to outscore Haaland this season now he will have some supply, show him whos boss. I think everyone wetting their pants over him last season would rankle with him a bit

It's amazing how many folks persuade themselves that we'd be better off without the league's best player. And "one of our own" to boot. It's like half the fans don't bother watching the footy, focused only on the papers, social media, banter, and 'financials'.
Nah disagree with this, there are loads of good arguements on both sides. The prefect scenario for EVERYONE was always he stays and signs a new contract.

I was totally in the "we must sell him now to avoid him going on a free to a PL team next year", but I have come back round to having One Last Dance, especially after seeing how we look in the friendlies.

Still stand by that most people either have forgotten or don't really know the pain of what that toss pot did to us in 2001. It wont be that bad, but we are now extremely likely to see our talisman and Captain leave us on a Free to a rival, again. It won't be enjoyable. Only time will tell if the One More Year will have been worth it. We win something, anything, it totally will. If we come 7th and go out of both cups early it'll have been a mistake not to sell him now.

The point was about him going to a premier league rival like United not about him leaving at all. That could happen but I don’t believe it is likely.

You don’t think it’s likely he leaves? I’m honestly gobsmacked at the delusion. Fair play, I’m sure we’ll win the double and he’ll sign 10 year contract next season.

What we do know is he was gagging for a move to city not long ago and was keen on the Munich move this summer. I think it’s fair to say it’s likely he’s going to be it interested in a few offers next season and he’ll have his pick.

i think it is more likely he leaves for a foreign club than stays with us. I never said any differently. You just bowled into a comment which was about moving to a PL rival. I don’t think that is likely.

Let’s be honest with your wording. Swap out “could” with “likely” and it changes your post a lot. The arguments have been done to death but if you can’t see why preferring £100 mil and him going abroad now to having nothing and him going to a rival then what more is there to say. And that’s before you consider the fact that keeping Kane probably won’t have too much baring in our league position. We might finish a couple of places higher but enough to convince him to sign a new deal? Unlikely imo.
Preferring to take the money and sell him outside the PL is a perfectly legitimate opinion to have: I disagree but it’s not unreasonable. However framing it as £100m now or nothing I’m a year is a false narrative because it ignores the value of having him for another year. Every place in the league table is a few million quid. Qualifying fir europe or not, or the CL rather than Europa is tens of millions. Merchandising revenue will higher. If levy thought it was ultimately a £100m difference to the bottom line he’d already be a Bayern player

waking up to see the thread expanded over night as much as it did created a weird combination of angst and excitement.

it's great to see the direction it went in. there will be time to celebrate later. Go get a f*#&ing world class back now Daniel.

I know it’s OT for this thread but are you seriously re-writing history that Levy sold Modric and Bale to get the £££ rather than the club rejecting multiple (good) bids from Prem teams to keep them longer than they both wanted until both players forced their way out to the highest profile overseas club in the world…

On Kane I would rather we keep him so I can enjoy cheering him each week. Would always take proven quality players over money and potential any day
Nope, just pointing out to FishCake that I didn't agree with today's match going fans opinion (that's his opinion of what todays match going fan wants) ..... and that glad I'm not in the stadium with them (if that is there opinion on Harry stay or go) ..... I thought that was clear.... but take what context you want out of my reply 😁👍

I think that’s even more of a stupid take but we’ll leave it there. I just think regardlesss of where he goes to say it’s unlikely he goes anywhere is mental but no one knows. Hopefully he’s given us some indication that he can be convinced to stay if we get top 4 or something half doable this season.

I wonder where Kane is mentally in regards to everything. He certainly doesn’t sounds as enthused about a move as he did earlier.
He actually looked happy at then Shaktar game. Hopefully he has second thoughts as he can see what Ange is all about and with the new players, especially Maddison, it might just be enough to convince him to stay. Coupled with Kate about to give birth, let's hope it swings it for us. Basically he wanted us to show progress and intent, and we have.

Pretty sure we've already had "deluded", "naive", "denial" thrown about in here at some posters over the past couple of weeks over the inevitability of this move...which lo and behold looks like it's about to not happen. So I'm not sure that anyone can be sure of anything at all to be fair. You never know what's going to happen in football.

it is going to be a cheaper option if Kane stays, without the money Levy won't pay for someone like Tapsoba/Silva

I think where Bayern have messed up is thinking Harry would be desperate and kick up a fuss.

Why would he? Kane has all the power here, a year left, free to talk to clubs abroad in a few months , still on a fortune and now he will play in a team that will go all out attack, thus helping him score even more goals.

The fact Bayern were arrogant enough to think he was that desperate to join them now and ignore all of that , blow up his legacy with his boyhood club and likely lose money says everything about their ego and mentality.

I'm sure he would have joined them by the way but I can't see why they thought he would kick up this huge stink to save them a few . million.

Hopefully this ends with him signing some kind of contract, even if it has a release clause, rather than going on a free. It does sound like he’s having a change of heart tho. I must say I’m surprised, it really felt like he had made his mind up that this was what he wanted, no matter how good Ange seems I didn’t think it would have any significant effect.
I'm really hoping that the Shaktar game made a difference and can see that he would get a bucketload of goals in this team.

Your reading comprehension skills are on fire today! As is your lack of self-awareness in calling someone else stupid.
