All the names being thrown round shows me is that we don’t have a plan. We are less than a week away from Brentford.

I can’t see how a deal for Kane can be done and a adequate option be brought in between now and then tbh.

Great news on Mickey. Surprised we haven’t heard more about outs

It would be nice to hear some ITK about players being shifted out. Why does no-one want our rubbish players for a colossal fee?

If it was a loan with an option, I could understand to an extent. But if we are selling Kane we should be getting genuine quality in to soften the blow. Not gambling it on injury prone kids who haven’t reached their potential.
Agree, a loan with option would make sense. In fact getting Fati on a loan if Kane was staying would make a lot of sense as it’s low risk. But, unless our scouts know he’s completely past his injuries and is getting back to best, then buying him would be a bad move imo. Selling Kane and buying Fati is not good enough as you say and I bet Barca will be looking for a large fee so they can buy Felix.

It does sound a bit like they’re throwing shit against the wall and seeing what sticks. It’s not filling me with any confidence whatsoever.

I don’t think that’s a great comparison. Odegaard had gone out and impressed on loan at both Socieadad and Arsenal. He left because Madrid didn’t have a place in the side for him and he wanted first team football. Fati just hasn’t progressed. His development has been stagnated by injuries. People will get excited because he was a wonder kid on football manager and fifa, but if he was any good they wouldn’t be selling him.

Like I said, if this is how we are spending the Kane money, it’s very underwhelming.
Absolutely. Just another opportunistic signing on the cheap if it happens due to Barca's circumstances. That doesn't mean it wouldn't work out but I'm under no illusion as to why we'd be interested.

Ansu Fati has already had his meniscus removed - this basically means he could have long term knee problems jeopardising his career.

The meniscus removal operation happened in 2021. He has had no reoccurence of same knee issues till now. He has been playing bit part role last season. He did score 7 goals in the 1200 minutes he was played.

Fernando Torres once had similar meniscus tear injury in 2010, was operated upon and his career nose dived after that.

This is a high risk transfer. The medical practice in last 13 yrs have improved much. So, may be he wont be affected.
If we doing it, I better hope we do a loan + option with not much fee involved.

It does seem that our recruitment infrastructure still needs a lot of work.

The reports about Kilman being recommended by the analysts only to be knocked back by Ange for a very basic reason - not enough pace (which they should have been able to identify for themselves) suggests they don't completely have a proper grip on what he is looking for.

So i agree it is going to be a struggle to agree on Kane replacement targets and get deals agreed in the next few days.

I wouldn't go for Fati. No matter how far medical practices have advanced, he's still missing an important part of his knee.

Still waiting for a link that isn't a little underwhelming with incomings due to Kane's possible departure. Is really making me feel like it will just be the likes of Orban, Johnson, Fati etc.

Love Ansu but not sure about his injuries. They never seem to play him in full games the last couple of seasons. They use him in short spells. He would be a very good impact sub for sure. He's also still young so could be a matter of growth helping his injuries. They've had similar history though with Raphina and he never got over those injuries. If they're looking to sell then I would be concerned they know something about his injury. After all, this is the kid who took Messi's number. He was very highly rated early on. I think with the injuries I would favour Orban but then Ansu is more left forward so could get both.

And the fact is he just doesn’t look the same on the pitch. He’s lost his acceleration and because of this he doesn’t skip past players as well as he used to, his touch is heavy, his agility, balance and mobility have taken a hit resulting in him actually looking clumsy at times and you can tell mentally he isn’t a fearless. All of that makes complete sense and some of it can improve greatly with game time and work etc. If he manages to stay injury free then he could possibly get back to his best. Big big IF tho.

For what it’s worth there are still a lot of Barca fans who rate him and want him to stay but it just doesn’t make any sense whatsoever if it’s anything other then a loan + option with little expectation of what he would deliver for us.
