Rooney to Everton would have been close.Would be interested to know if an English club ever sold the incumbent National Captain before?

Even with Bayern that is a long bet.I think he’s pushing the deal through because he wants to try and win the CL. Let’s face it he has a much better chance with them than most PL teams, only city are good enough for his ambitions, and they don’t need him anymore.
I think they will be favourites with Kane. They have the complete setup.Even with Bayern that is a long bet.
It's a big gamble and he's risking the EPL record as well because Bayern will not be letting him leave any time soon and that record will be gone
Not sure if it's been mentioned yet but it does seem a little weird Englands national team captain going to Germany biggest team, Englands biggest rivals.Would be interested to know if an English club ever sold the incumbent National Captain before?
no better or worse than moving to City these days tbhHard to disagree.
IMO he wants to play CL football, that’s all I can imagine he wants to go there for.
Domestic German titles aren’t anything to rave about IMO. If he wins the Bundesliga, he’ll still get sh** from everyone; except not because he’s not won anything but because he’s taken a seemingly easy route for a medal.
Tons and tons of personal English and international football success and then a random Bundesliga medal amongst it all. Can’t imagine it meaning much tbh. An FA cup medal with Spurs would mean more
Shouldn’t be getting a statue either. If you’re not with us, you’re against us.I absolutely love and adore him for everything he has done for Spurs.
Possibly in a minority, If he leaves, I don’t want him to win a thing with any other club. The legacy he could have had will be completely tarnished.
I’m Gutted
Funny how the Germans don't consider us as their main rivals. We are West Ham in this situation, a one-sided rivalry. At the national level, I should stress. Not sure if it's been mentioned yet but it does seem a little weird Englands national team captain going to Germany biggest team, Englands biggest rivals.
They’re dropping that without having to sell anyone. We’re having to sell Kane to fix a position that’s been needing addressing for years.
I cannot fathom why people cannot see how we can’t fund Maddison, 1 quality CB, a quality striker and a CB understudy.
We should have £80+m for Kane, £40m from sales and whatever else we generate for a normal transfer budget.
What’s the point of money in the bank? Apart from it looking great on the balance books.
We aren’t a charity home for past players.he is also leaving an option open to return to us in the future when perhaps his status as a club legend will mean our giving him the game time in his later years to still have a chance of taking Shearer’s record
What we do in the next 4 weeks will be the most critical bit of business since Gareth Bale departed - possibly even beyond that.
I dread to think the mood if we fail to even reasonably compensate Kane’s departure and I don’t necessarily mean a striker.
I don't want him back if he goes because hopefully, we'll have no need for him and he'll no longer fit our style.IMO I think the experience with City and the fan backlash made him realise just how much his legacy with this club is actually important to him
So he’s getting us a fee and avoiding moving to a rival. At the same time he’s giving himself a shot at the CL and perhaps the Ballon d’or.
This isn’t altruism, he wants to remain a club legend and I suspect that he is also leaving an option open to return to us in the future when perhaps his status as a club legend will mean our giving him the game time in his later years to still have a chance of taking Shearer’s record

"As part of the deal that takes Harry to Germany, we're delighted to announce a special relationship with Bayern Munich."Genuinely curious how the club outwardly handle Kane’s departure. Cant see a way of them phrasing it where they don’t end up looking like mugs.
I think Utd signed him around 04? but Rooney wasn't England captain until 2014.Rooney to Everton would have been close.
Going the other way in 2017 - when he was allowed to leave United on a free to go to Everton. He was still Captain on England in 2017 - but he did relinquish it at some point that year.I think Utd signed him around 04? but Rooney wasn't England captain until 2014.
That's interesting, who do the Germans consider their biggest rivals?Funny how the Germans don't consider us as their main rivals. We are West Ham in this situation, a one-sided rivalry. At the national level, I should stress.
