If he was doing us a favour he'd sign a new deal.

Don't get confused and believe he's doing us any favours. Kane is thinking about Kane right now and not anyone else

He could easily sit tight for 10 months and go to a domestic rival with Spurs not receiving anything in return.

I’m not trying to knock richarlison here but imagine selling Kane and going into the season with a striker that scored 1 pl goal last season and a young back up. I understand that’s simplified but it’s laughable

People forgetting we got Son still who was carrying an injury most of last season. I think he will step up!

I know everyone has been thinking this - but I don't think it is as clear cut as many seem to think.

First, he will be 31 next summer - it becomes tougher to offer a big sign-on fee, and long-term contract at that age. Second, not all the teams will be looking to add a 31-yo striker - even a striker with Kane's credentials. Third, some of the top teams will be set at striker - so won't want to spend big on Kane.

Its easy to say he can improve any team out there, but its another to assume that every team would be willing to take him on at the wages and contract length that he wants.

Had he stayed at Spurs, I think there was a decent chance that Spurs would have been the best fit for him next summer - in terms of pay, ambition, and spot in the team.
your last paragraph was exactly why i didn't want to sell him, because we may well have ended up being his best option.
Sad to see him go but it is what it is, we move on.

It's felt inevitable for awhile. Hopefully we can get our shit together again and move on now. 🙏

Loved watching him come through and prove nearly everyone wrong. Hate that some in football still don't seem to rate him; that we've failed to reach his level; and that he's felt he's had to move on...

Players have come and gone over the years, and hopefully we can find a new legend or two - or even a team of them - soon. 🤞🤞🤞

He could just as easily sign a reported 400k PW deal and stay at Spurs to help with the new era.

But he's doing neither. He's pushing through a deal with Bayern because it suits him not because it helps us or any other party.

My prediction in all this is that he'll be trying to get out of Bayern within 2 years and he'll have the same issues as Lewandowski.

I've felt all along that the correct decision was to sell him this window. Wish him the best, time to start the post-Harry era.

It's for the best o_O
We get a decent fee, Harry doesn't go to a rival.

Losing Kane is going to cut deep though, even with (we hope) two shiny new CBs and a young talented forward.

Would be interested to know if an English club ever sold the incumbent National Captain before?

I think he’s pushing the deal through because he wants to try and win the CL. Let’s face it he has a much better chance with them than most PL teams, only city are good enough for his ambitions, and they don’t need him anymore.

Hard to disagree.

IMO he wants to play CL football, that’s all I can imagine he wants to go there for.

Domestic German titles aren’t anything to rave about IMO. If he wins the Bundesliga, he’ll still get sh** from everyone; except not because he’s not won anything but because he’s taken a seemingly easy route for a medal.

Tons and tons of personal English and international football success and then a random Bundesliga medal amongst it all. Can’t imagine it meaning much tbh. An FA cup medal with Spurs would mean more

And so he should if we are being honest.
I didn't suggest anything else. But let's not pretend he's doing us any favours.

The highly likely probability is that Kane was very clear to Levy that he has zero interest in signing a new deal - So either sell me now or I walk for free.

There is no other situation where Levy would be selling our greatest goalscorer of all time - unless he was forced
