It doesn't work like that though does it. They are packing their defence and making it as hard as they can for us. This is actually a pretty good run out for us in that sense.

I'd feel considerably happier if Ben Davies had learnt that passing a ball into a midfielder who's moving away from him - whilst an opposition player is running towards him - has a fairly high chance of being intercepted.
We don't always get what we want.

I'd rather we use pre season to try and get him to be a better RB. That's the point of these games

Another thing I'm noticing is that when the ball gets wide I feel like we have to get the ball in to the box quicker before defenders are allowed to set up. Compared to last season I'm finally seeing not just Kane in there - CMs, Maddison, and opposite winger are getting in.
Example: Son just got the ball wide on a semi counter attack with 4 runners in the box and double scissors and earns a corner... hope we can just get the ball into the areas - it'll be WAY different than last season

I think he might also think that Davies is genuinely the best LCB in the squad for his style of football...which is equally damning of our CB options.

I don't understand what's fun about being a shambles at the back. If we don't address our cb issues nothing will be fun this year.

Nothing controversial that I can take from this so far
- our attacking intent is looking much better
- Udogie looks a great addition
- Porro has the ingredients, but his defensive decision making needs to improve
- Bissouma is commanding
- errrr, we need a CB - and a properly commanding one. The rest of the defence, even though they're good players, need marshalling. I wonder if a more experienced player than Tapsoba is needed. A Naybet type in the meantime?

Maddison with his third or fourth brilliant ball, with the outside of his foot, to Son, yet Son's cross into Kane is horrible.
