I'm not just talking about this season though, I'm talking about every season stretching back for a good few years.

And I'm not a great fan of the whole net spend stuff because none of us know how transfers are structured, or for how long.

The example I tend to reach for is Forest buying about 30 players last year, or Arsenal spending every year for the last umpteen, or Villa spending left right and centre.

I'm not one for the whole accounting/net spend stuff because I don't really understand it but what I do understand is that most other clubs find the money to spend when and where they need it.
We don't but yet we've got one of the highest revenues in world football.

Can we really not afford to speculate to accumulate? Especially when it's European football and the possible future of Kane at risk?!
I could give this multiple Winners. You’ve described my/ours frustration in a nutshell. Brilliant post👍.

Not sure if this was already posted...

More proof, and referring to a few of the other posts above, ENIC’s tenure will only ever be about maximising the value of THFC, Not about filling the trophy cabinet.
We should just accept we are a very well run business, not a football club looking for daring for glory.

I hate the ownership but I would rather just rebuild as Kane isn't gonna play here next season

I would have thought that both Joe Lewis and Daniel Levy are too smart as businessmen to let that decision be known to anyone but themselves as it would jeopardize their receiving an acceptable fee for Kane.
I tend to agree unless they are hoping that it could encourage more clubs to get involved and thus start a bidding war.

It’s all about the 💵💶💷💴
Kane is an asset.
Bottom line, Kane is worth zero at the close of the window.
I wouldn’t think this helps us extract maximum value out of Bayern though. If they know Kane won’t be signing, widely reported, this Summer, they sure aren’t going to pay the extra tens to get him.

Multi billionaire businessman would prefer if £100m asset was sold as opposed to walking for free.

Not sure that’s really a shock tbh.

Story is , who is leaking same thing to Telegraph & Mirror on same day ?
Not great for club as buying club know we have to sell.

Probably Kane side leak ? Even though it seems to put the spot light on Harry ?

I doubt the club would be leaking this if they hadn’t already agreed a fee for him with someone. This little fairy tale is basically the club trying to stop Levy from getting the blame for selling our star player.

Obviously a club leak imo. To get ahead of the Levy out stuff. “Oh this wasn’t Levy’s decision, honest folks….”

Joe Lewis doesn't give a fuck what we think of him so he's willing to be the fall guy for insisting we sell Kane.
Spurs will leak that they offered him record contract etc (like we did with the last player who ran down their contract with us all those years ago) and that there was nothing else they could do and all that bullshit.

Near fully convinced now he's gone 😔

Amazing what these journos claim to know all the time :) ... incredible inside knowledge... how many different stories do we have on Kane now this summer ?? ... 10-12... or more ?

And 99% of them with the "Kane leaving, Kane must go, Kane should be sold, Kane deserves more... blah, blah, blah.."

If its a club leak, then fee should have been agreed already. Otherwse, it undermines negotiations as it will put us into a corner otherwise

Charlie Eccleshare alluded to this narrative becoming more prominent from the upper echelons at the club.

Bayern really need to come back to the table with a suitable offer now because if this is dragging on with the season starting then I pity poor Ange.
