Yeah not hugely hung up on the timing provided we get the right player/s in. We've already got 2 first teamers and a squad option in the door for pre-season so it's not like we're leaving everything until the last minute.

Would be good for the starting LCB to get at least 2-3 weeks of pre-season with the team, though, given it's an important position.

Somethings afoot with this one. Either us continuing to delay because of Tapsoba or potentially issues at the Wolfsburg end.

Must admit it was weird to see ITK so confident a day or two ago and it not be followed by updates from Romano or Dutch media.

Or we in negotiations with several clubs and trying to piece it all together. The CB going on tour isn't a big deal. People in their minds have set this as a deadline and now as the tour group are about to depart they suddenly annoyed,/disappointed that the shiny new signing isn't on tour.

ITK have said that defence is an issue that the club want to fix. There's 6 weeks still to get it done.

Spurs have held talks with Wolfsburg for primary defensive target Micky Van de Ven but have Colwill on their shortlist.

The are fears that Liverpool, who also regard Colwill highly, could hijack talks for Van de Ven as they target a similar profile of defender.

We’ve been told we’re going to sign two central defenders for 3-4 straight summers now. The only one we have signed is Cristian Romero. We’ve also loaned Clement Lenglet.

I’m not saying it won’t happen, but I think that anyone having doubts is justified and backed up by recent history.

Really good start to the window but to not have one CB on that plane to Aus is the first , predictable, worrying sign.

Getting concerned for this deal, should have been tied up days ago.

Always was a risk that other teams would be interested and try to outmuscle us.

Hence the 'ancient information' part. Everyone has known for ages Liverpool were interested and I don't think the writer has any new info - they've just thrown that in there to pad out a throwaway piece of non-journalism.
