4 at the back with two WBs out of position at FB (let's be honest, Perisic is never going to be comfortable at LB), leaving Romero and Dier (who has always looked more comfortable in a back 3) pretty exposed. I'd be feeling far happier with this formation change if we had Emerson & Davies at FB.

Yep, this is where a Maddison type is needed, but we have what we have. Fully expect us to be on the back for a lot so the extra solidity might be useful

Agree but it’ll hopefully just be similar to how poch used to play with the fullbacks high and wide in a hybrid 4-2-3-1/3-4-2-1

yes more pressure might be on our defence but we should also create a lot more and cause much more of a threat and keep more of the ball all of which gives us more chance of scoring and winning.
