All said and done, it’s a damn shame it’s ended like this with Conte.

Was truly hopeful he would be the catalyst to propel us to silverware.

yep. Seems very strange. It was mooted the other day though.
I don’t get it at all. His methods were clearly not working, so it’s bizarre to appoint the very man who he trusted most to implement those methods as his replacement.

Equally it’s just as weird to spend an entire week trying to sort a replacement only to end up with someone intrinsically linked to Conte.

Fully expect us to finish about 7th or 8th now, and then spend the summer chaotically lurching from one replacement to the other just like the summer of 21.

Stelini and Mason combo just reeks of more lack of planning, nothing new there then.

What were they supposed to do? Clearly they weren’t anticipating Conte’s outburst and let’s be honest, this has been initiated by him.

They're not going to her in their first choice until the summer, so this is easily the only option to keep continuity until the end of the season.

Lets be positive - whatever your opinion on Stellini staying on, he played a style that, apparently, our players enjoyed and were perhaps better setup to play naturally, which was more entertaining than the first half of endurance we had to cope with under Conte.

If we make top four and play entertaining football for the rest of the season, put Chirpy in charge, I'm just glad this saga and all the drama is over for now.

I'd rather have a depressed Conte in charge than his assistant that got sacked from a 3rd division Italian club

If only Stellini had managed a Premier League club like ours in a caretaker capacity in the past couple of months so we could draw some marginally more relevant and informed conclusions.

Think that’s a bad move keeping Stellini on. Surely he’s just Conte’s right hand man? Same ideas etc.

Don’t think this bodes well at all.

I'm very sceptical about it as well. I guess he has no reason to 'do what Conte would do' but how much does his own philosophy and ideologies mirror that of Conte's. Not that the football would just transform anyway but will it still be sit back football, Son picked irrespective of performance, Danjuma massively neglected etc. Really hope they look to implement some changes to the way we go about playing.

So you sack /conte and keep his assistant on as manager for the rest of the season, what a joke. Reeks of saving money to me, so they are only paying Conte off. no planning whatsoever.

Something’s off that’s for sure. Surely conte’s brother can’t be staying on too?

If I was one of the players I’d seriously be questioning things.

More importantly, how does the betting work for this? After 10 games Stellini automatically becomes permanent manager, even if it’s just for a day before the new man comes in.

Any bookies offering odds on him being next permanent manager?

All for Levy bashing but it's probably Naglesmann we want and he can't be got till the summer. Gallardo also said he wants till the summer.

Disagree, this might have been peaked by Conte, but it's the way the club is run from top to bottom that led us to this point and the buck stops with the chairman. Why get rid of Conte and keep Stelini, it makes zero sense and the likely root of the problem is getting another manager to stake their reputation on working for Levy. We all seen the appointment of nuno farce and who could confidently predict the same won't happen again?

Probably not the worst solution IF we secure in time our prime candidate for June/July, and that is hopefully Nagelsmann, who just wants a break first.

I think it would be difficult to switch the system completely now with ten games to go, I just hope them two make a few more flexible adjustments here and there and don't act as stubborn as Conte. Maybe even give Danjuma a chance to show himself.

As per Antonio, man was I in high hopes when he joined and without knowing his systems and management style in detail back then, I was still very positive. Thought this was a real ambitious move and after a slow start, we did great to finish top 4 last season. And I really thought with a transfer window, where we invested quite a lot, and a full pre season with AC, that we can kick on and push even more.
But looking back at the current season it was a complete shit show. Some stuff was happening all the time (slow starts, 0 goals first half, Sonny and Lloris starting even though playing shit, somehow played football the last 20 minutes) and still you never knew how the team will turn up. In addition we had a bad squad management, weird and uninspiring substitutions and just not the feeling, we develop in any right direction. A CB missing or not. 75% of the opponent managers had a solution fro our predictable play, sometimes individual performances and set pieces bailed us out.

So I am happy he is gone and I can not wait for a more positive start in the summer, to hopefully get behind the managers style of play and get some emotions back for the club.
