For the second time in 2 years we are about to look up and down everyone at the football club, decide someone has to go and choose the only one in the building that's ever won at football before.

This is clever

How did you learn this?

It was widely reported last season that Paratici was scouting Spence - he was even spotted at a match watching him.

And I think there was ITK in here that Levy negotiated the deal because of an existing connection.

Another bad night's sleep because of this club. Thanks Tottenham.

It's inconceivable to me that he still has a job. Yes a lot of what he said is true but for him to not apportion a scintilla of the blame at his own door, and to go as far as to mock people for making up "excuses" about the uncertainty surrounding his contract situation that he has 100% introduced himself by being deliberately vague and dismissive, is unforgivable.

Of course Levy needs to go too (and whatever happens, I'm pretty sure he's getting both barrels at the next home game) but how is Conte going to rock up to training and prepare the squad for the next match when he's basically just called them all shit and gutless? Especially when it's the football that he's demanding they play that's shit and gutless?

You know what really pisses me off? People's inability to understand that you can believe in two statements that in part oppose each other. Does my fucking head in. You can be in support of Conte's comments AND want him gone at the same time....

Obviously you never know in football but if he's still here come Monday/Tuesday i'd be a bit surprised. Having said that, it's an international break so who knows how long it'll take for Levy to send him his P45 or Conte to quit.

Stamps have just gone up, so he won’t push for first class, it’ll be a second class one all day long 😂

I am sorry, but how did you learn this?

Infairness mate I think most people actually agree with him calling out the players for consistently weak performances but also acknowledge that he himself is partly to blame for that as well.
I want him gone and have done for months but I'm glad he's gone this route of calling them out. I wish he also did that to Levy as well.

Exactly how I feel at the minute.

I applaud him for saying what needed to be said but that doesn't mean I want him to stay on as our manager.

Like I said yesterday, we need gutting from top to bottom.

As Oliver Cromwell said to the House of Commons in 1653:

Conte can be blamed for deploying the wrong tactics but one thing he cannot be blamed for is a lack of passion. That is unforgiveable and our players are guilty of this time and time again.

I'd thank Conte for calling the players out, it's high time someone did! And to think this hasn't been discussed with the players face to face is absurd. Of course this has but Conte has gone down this road because nobody seems to be listening! Like Dele and the Mourinho chat we all watched on the Amazon all or nothing. In one ear out the other.

I've supported Spurs since '86 but something happened in early mid 90's and we've been the same since. As Fergie said, we've a soft center and that's because we don't roll our sleeves up and fight, devoid of any passion.

Conte protecting his image? To what end? Do people seriously think he gives a rats arse about that? His reputation will remain intact and he'll be a sought after manager regardless of anything that happens at a club that are specialists in failure. The inner world of football is a LOT more pragmatic than the highly strung state of a clubs fans.

It's an attempt to deflect knowing what he said is a hurtful truth.

It might not be easy for some to acknowledge we have a squad of professional losers so they have to find blame in Conte's method of delivery rather than his words.

Yes his tactics and style have been crap but fucking PREACH!!
This is what we’ve all known for years now. The club is far too comfortable pretending to be one of the big boys. The desire to win has to come from the top and Levy does not instil that. Hiring fucking Nuno 🤣🤣🤣 laughable for a “top club”
Conte will be gone and the circus will continue.

How has he not been sacked yet? With only a couple of months left on his deal it can't be because of money. I really don't understand it! Give it to Mason these last ten games and move on.

I think if we had a less rigid defensive manager and style and we played to our players strengths and we didn’t have to re-build the squad to a 3atb system and had instead spent the money on a CB and creative attacking midfielder I think we’d be easily 3rd and still in at least 2 of the cup competitions.

How many of our players get into uniteds team? Imo it’s upto 3, why on earth would we be above them with a different manager.

Where we are is the proof in the pudding that contes done a fine job based purely on results.

The same players haven't been here for 20 years. We've had several teams in that time. Some were good, most weren't. Conte's told some good home truths, but it was also he who fucked this season up. We were primed after back to back london derby wins, and then they all fucked it up. Too fucking late to bemoan losing to sheffield reserves when that game was there for the taking.

Stamping your feet saying I want to win is just childish nonsense. You have to create a side that can win. That side have to be able to play proper football with proper character. We play walking football and apparently are in 'control's at 3-1.

The side's evolution and progress toward winning is very important. How you play leads to how you win. We had an upturn under one manager especially, and then we fucked it all away. That was about the only time the club's culture looked like turning.

Even when Man Utd, Arsenal and Chelsea have had pretty average teams they always seem to pick up trophies. We have a huge mentality issue engrained in every inch of the football club. Top to bottom we need to change. You saying we’ve had multiple different footballers proves it, because no matter who we sign they fall at the final hurdle. Whilst other clubs, clubs who win things, can pick up, say, an FA cup with a bang average side.

Doubtful Levy will sack him in next 24-48hrs as it’ll look like a reaction to his press conference and he won’t want to appear that spiteful. I’m over the moon Conte said what he did, I’m glad about the coverage it’s getting, o hope the club/media/fans don’t gloss over it. He is saying what many have said before him, it’s a root and branch rebuild that’s needed

"They don't want to play under pressure, they don't want to play under stress".

That's Tottenham Hotspur. He's bang on!

I have read lots of this thread with great interest. As usual we all have opinions. Many differ. I’m so tired of it all. There is now an obsession with winning. It’s is supposed to be an entertainment. For me what’s important is this. Having had a season ticket since 1977 I can honestly say I’ve never been so bored than I have for the last few years under the last 2 managers watching my team (apart from a season under ‘the man in the raincoat’). I drive 450 miles round trip for each home match. It is increasingly hard to justify to myself to watch this crap. Whatever happens, let’s just see a spurs team on the front foot trying to beat the opposition, not waiting for them to die of boredom to paraphrase Danny Blanchflower. Please.

It's the 4th time in 4 or 5 years that Levy will appoint some negative football bullshit manager who will coincidentally be an ex-Chelsea manager
