Because that's really not a part of his game, and nor should it be really. He's a midfielder, a defensive one and a bloody good one at that.
At 22 years old, not to mention coming back from a long term injury, surely you can't expect a goal threat on top of everything else he does?
Let's credit what he does well because he does it very well, then have the patience for the one area that he's lacking to improve.
