I have to disagree. What he has at the back is bottom half of the league quality. No manager does better with this defence. People talk about how well Poch did but that defence is miles ahead of this one. This inconsistency is exactly what to expect with this squad. It's half quality.
I half agree. The pool of “talent” we have in defence is shocking.

However, it was Conte’s decision to start that back 3 whilst having Lenglet and Sanchez on the bench who are much better defenders. He would’ve also given the green light to loan out Rodon and keep Tanganga when Rodon is twice the defender Tanganga will ever be.

I like your stance. I wouldn't want others over Conte given a choice. Was the same for me when Mourinho was here.

But there have to be some discussions and questions asked of them, surely, on their persistence of doing something so consistently wrong and expecting a better result every single time. When the results didn't turn out well, they have to answer for it. Not every time they do. And when they still continue to do so, is just so disrespectful to the club, players and fans.

I like them, I like Conte. I just could not understand why the hell Son can survive 90 minutes so many games while Danjuma and Richy had so little. Fuck this game was even perfect for them both to start, and Son could be fresh for Milan. But no, now all of our strikers are shit low in confidence for the next game.

Conte got a few things wrong today, and the only good decision IMO was starting Tanganga. Japh had a good game in a calamitous back 3

Porro needed to be eased in, Emersinho should’ve have been dropped after that performance against City. iDGAF about Milan, Emerson could handle both games if needed and Porro starts next weekend. You don’t take a player out of the 11 when he’s on fire.

Son and Kulu have been dreadful all season tbf. It’s time we give Richy and Danjuma a chance to pull something together. Maybe that will light a fire.

Dier and Davies will always be purple patch players, nothing Conte can do there unfortunately. Sanchez could start over Dier, but he lacks that leadership quality and we don’t get that from any other CB. That’s why Dier starts. We don’t have a direct replacement for Davies.

Perisic isn’t great by any means, but I doubt Sess would pull up trees either. I can’t wait for Udo in the summer. Chalk and cheese.

I’ll give the man a pass this time because he’s had his troubles recently, but it’s time to pull finger and make some hard decisions regarding the starting 11 from here on.

Its not Conte's fault the team is full of sub-par players...
For you, nothing is Conte's fault. Absolutely nothing. When we were in the top 4 I'm pretty sure you kept using that as a barometer to show how good Conte was.

Now we're playing absolutely terribly and out of the top 4, but it's not Conte's fault. I don't get it.

This is a guy we're paying £15m per year and apparently wants more if he was to stay. The football all season has been absolutely gash, even when were fluking results.

I cannot understand anybody who doesn't think he's should be getting more out of our squad. Do we have limitations? Yes. But fucking hell some of the performances this season have been genuinely awful.

I hate the style. And I mean genuinely hate it. It's boring and given our attacking talents, we SHOULD NOT be playing like the underdog week after week.

I wouldn’t say much better tbh, they are all a muchness! However Conte didn’t help anything today.

He’s vastly under achieving with this squad, yes there’s weaknesses and we all know that but surely he can set up a team to make the most of what he’s got to work with? You could excuse the odd poor result/ performance if you could see where we were headed but we lurch from good to terrible like a pendulum.I think it’s never going to get where we want it to be mainly because he’ll never get all the players he wants and he insists on sticking rigidly with the formations and style that basically doesn’t suit us, just get poch back ffs

The late subs, pretty much like for like, when we needed to mix things up, was disappointing. Sonny has been poop all season, yet plays every minute of every game. He isn’t playing himself into form and Conte should have hooked him at half time.
I think that's harsh. He did change to 442 so it wasn't like for like. The issue was it took too long. The changes should happen 10 mins into the 2nd half when we didn't respond to the first half.

Disappointed he took so long to make changes - I doubt many would have criticised if he'd made a couple of subs at half time.

I wouldn't call them better defenders at all. Lenglet is a better possession player but Davies is better defensively. Sanchez is worse on the ball and off balance at times so not better than Tanganga.

He does deserve blame for bad choices but he has just had serious surgery.

Perhaps he should have stayed away a little longer and performances havent been good enough but that caveat should be stated.

I am not totally sold on a Poch reunian but I will say this.

Bentancur, Bissouma, Porro, Romero, Richarlison and Udogie are right up his street
He’s available, he wants to come, and he already has a special relationship with the fans and some of the players.

We were very bad for almost a whole year at the end of his time with us, but we were good and sometimes excellent under him for a much longer period before that. He was clearly burned out by the end and needed a break. He’s fundamentally a good manager (perhaps not a great one though).

There are question marks tactically and especially in the transfer market, but at this point I think we have more to gain than to lose by bringing him back. It’s an itch than needs scratching and if it’s going to happen it might as well be now.

I've said it before but Bentancur & Bissouma in a 4-2-3-1 immediately becomes one of the best holding midfield duos in the league.

And this thing with the subs! We need x y and z on blah blah, subs are not meant to come on and pull us out of the fire every week , they’re suppose to refresh and supplement what we already have on the pitch in terms of in game management ffs

lol, Chelsea's window really has deluded people on here. Look at the jobs that Frank, Marco Silva, Arteta and Howe are doing. But no elite manager Conte needs 400m (yes, four hundred) before he can be judged.

Mmmmmm I love the taste of salt.

Sanchez is considerably better than Tanganga. Putting his debut to one side, which we lost anyway, he’s done nothing good in a Tottenham shirt. He’s a rubbish footballer.
