Sad, innit?Me as well. But didn't even bother suggesting it as its fantasy talk.

Might as well play 433 then and do the wonkyWould like to see 352 as well, but with Kulusevski wide right. People will say he's not a wing back but ours are so far up the pitch they're more like wingers anyway. If Kulu plays there they'll have to try to stop him, whereas Emerson generally stops himself.

I think that's likely. We might see a shift to 352 later but given they will press really high and will be encouraged on by the crowd, 343 is perfect to launch fast counterattack where we can hurt themThat's the side he'll pick I think.

It’ll be this and they will have us camped in our own halves unable to get out as we are completely overrun in midfield as alwaysLloris

Thing is you can play exactly the same team and be flexible. Have Kulu play the right sided 8 acting as a winger in attack and a CM in defence and transition. It’s not hard.A thing that I do like about a 3-5-2 is that it really makes Kane and Son the focal point too and of course, not that they've had problems in the past not playing as a pair but they've both been struggling a bit so it may help them.
I see the logic in having three up front as like someone else said, it enhances the chance of springing counter attacks. It's such a hard one to call without knowing how what type of game it will be though because we can sometimes have the three up front but not really enough control of proceedings or enough care with the ball when we do have it to really utilise them. Arsenal are looking like a really good passing side at the moment and with how inaccurate our passing has been in the last few games I do worry a little about Arsenal seeing way too much of the ball and passing around us.

This will probably happen but we are now 13 league games unbeaten. We surely need to get past this now. We can be better than we have been when we have the ball in controlled possession against teams that sit off, like Sporting. But our whole tactic is about bringing the opposition on to us and attacking at speed - the chart below illustrates this in an amazing way. Plus the chances we give up when we don’t have the ball are usually very low quality ones, hence 13 games unbeaten…It’ll be this and they will have us camped in our own halves unable to get out as we are completely overrun in midfield as always

Last year City overran our midfield 2, and we beat them 3-2 away with a very unlucky penalty against. Liverpool overran our midfield 2, and we got a 1-1 draw with a massively deflected effort against. Both of these teams are better than the current Arsenal.
Why are people advocating a 5-3-2 to control a game when that’s not our style? Fine to move to that latter in games to manage games, but it’s not our bread and butter. It’s not what got us CL football, that has us on the cusp of our longest ever unbeaten streak and level points with the expected runaway leaders of the league. We need to play our game.
Yes but as sporting proved and as the chelsea and West Ham proved when we play better sides we can’t cope. Sporting have good attackers and we lost, chelsea should have won comfortably as they have good attackers but attackers that can’t finish and a terrible ref decision meant we scored. This will probably happen but we are now 13 league games unbeaten. I would not fancy Kulusevski up against Martinelli, and Perisic up against Saka against fast starting Arsenal away from home. Don't get me wrong, Id love to see those players in that formation, but at home against Everton. Arenal away is a game for Sessegnon and Royal as the WBs.Id like a team to how we ended yesterday but Kulu RWB and Perisic LWB and Bissouma in the middle - I just dont think we will see it. It would make sense though as I think we will approach it to how Man United played except our attack is more dangerous. Sonny would and should have a field day if we play it right.
Agreed. Funnily enough spence completely nullified martinelli in the cup, but no way conte will play himI would not fancy Kulusevski up against Martinelli, and Perisic up against Saka against fast starting Arsenal away from home.
