Until Bissouma does it in a Spurs shirt, Hojbjerg is our best midfielder and it would be madness to sell him.

Although I wouldn't necessarily say I'm his biggest fan, I do respect what he does for us. He has the right mentality and his workrate is superb. That said, I'm not against upgrading anyone if we can do it. Even Kane. The only thing that matters is the club. But, I doubt very much we can find a better player this late in the window. And it's probably not true anyway. RM's midfield is about as good as it gets.

Would be surprised if there is anything in it. Certainly wouldn't be against selling for the right price provided we were able to get a replacement in but I don't really see Madrid offering what we'd want. Having spent a large amount on Tchouameni, not sure they'll have the appetite to be spending too much money on a player who probably wouldn't be a regular for them.

If they are looking for a replacement for Casimero, suspect they'll have a number of targets and go for the one where they are not shelling out too much and can get a deal done with minimal fuss.

He's in that bracket with Parker, Wanyama (pre injuries) and Palacios for me in terms of a DM coming in and being uber consistent. No chance Antonio entertains a thought of him going.

Basically he is a CM version of Lamela. Great desire and workrate, not particularly skilled, now and then pops up with a goal or good pass.

He is barely good enough if we consider top4 standard as reference point. If we are serious about trophies an upgrade is required.

He's been involved in all but 1 of our goals this season. As in the pass before the assist. And he could have had a good 3 or 4 assists too. The disrespect/understating he gets from spurs fans is unreal

He’s upgradeable. However with a short period of time left in the window and then the time it takes to adapt to the conte system. Not sure we’d be better off currently

Werty as a fellow Irishman I don't want to disagree with you especially when we're surrounded by all these British people who we (Dougal included) are trying to convert to the bright side but Bentancur is better midfielder than PH.

He doesn’t get into any of the other to 4 teams. For that reason I’d be happy to upgrade if possible. Imo we already have upgraded with bissouma and Bentancur but would be good to get someone in a similar level to kovacic, kante, Fabinho, rodri.

He is massively underrated by a loud minority of fans on here. He’s reliable, totally committed, a leader, pops up at big moments.

Not sure if anyone posted this article

Says Madrid won't be making any more signings.

As much as I like him(and I do really like him) he is limited compared to our other CM options. It would have to be well above market value though, because of what he brings on top of his football ability.

In terms of ability i definetly like him, but don't think he's all that special.

I do think he gives us some intangible benefits both inside and outside of the game though. His mentality seems to be exceptional and he also seems to be a natural born leader.

He only doesn't get in because of the quality they have in those positions. He'd comfortably fit in all of those teams though and the drop in quality would be insignificant

They are skint by historical standards and need to replace Benzema next year. No way they pay£40-£50m for a centre mid when they already have Valverde, Camavinga and Tchouaméni in place.
