I don’t know what I think of him, he’s actually quite good in the air but as for creativity he reminds me of sabitzer solid but not spectacular.

I personally would rather a midfielder that controls the tempo rather than is creative no.10. Keeping the pressure against small teams is the winner for me.

IMO we’ve seen the number 10 role done by Kane already and it was ineffective.

Chelsea can show the rest of the league what they like, but without the quality that Chelsea have in key positions, other teams won't be able to deploy that as effectively against us. Then there are teams who won't change their formation and style of play to counter an opponent.

Frankly the Chelsea game was no where near as bad as some are making out. It's always a massively tough fixture for us at Stamford Bridge, so to come away with a point is decent. The major mistake Conte made was not brining Perisic on for Son sooner, had he done so we wouldn't have shipped that second goal. Likewise if Kane had been on proper form then that shot he bumbled wide when clean through would have had us winning the game.

I'm not saying we were perfect and clearly there were some mistakes both from the dug out and on the pitch. But other teams lining up like that against us doesn't worry me at all.

Bang on. We played against a team with the same starting XI we had last season, against a team that finished above us.

Away from home and like it or not they do have quality. Teams can set up this way against us sure but we showed enough options from the bench to be able to counteract certain teams and their potential set ups.

Most won't have the depth Chelsea have to enforce such a formation as they pressed and pushed hard all game against us. Bench wise what other teams really have as much depth to be able to have the kind of legs they showed 2 games in come November etc?

4 points up on the same fixtures played as last season. All of that without our top 3 really being fluid together. It's a great start and will give us a very good springboard into the next 4 or 5 games.

if levy and company really wanted to be ambitious they would sign this man.
Can’t say I agree, spending the kind of money it would take on a rotation player is not ambition given where we are in our rebuild. We need a cb of true quality more than we need this guy. Next summer if we’ve signed zaniolo, a bastoni quality CB, then I’d be looking at this guy.

Signing SMS would indeed be ambitious, but not singing him doesn't show a lack of ambition. Especially when set against our excellent window so far.

excellent window? its a B or B- at best lol.. Bissouma is the real only super good thing from it.. Persic is old and who knows how he will translate to pl.. Spenc can't even start lol and the cb we bought from spain isn't that great.

Business done early and a squad that finished 4th last year unquestionably improved. Options off the bench 10x better. Re Spence, we're two games in

Fuck me, if signing the best striker in the bottom half of the Prem, best midfielder outside of the top 6 in the Prem, and a top-3 LWB in the world last season is a B-, we must not have had an actual A window since the 1960s…

Honestly….they need players with heart and grit up and down that lineup and in their position, they should probably snap up anyone with such qualities that they can lure into that talent death trap.
What a load of rubbish, they need a midfielder that goes sideways and backwards and his surname starts with a ‘W’ ?

Perisic did alright on Sunday.. another one of our additions you seem to have forgotton did alright when he came on also. Infact it's our early business that gave us the chance to change the game on Sunday, in years gone by we'd have not even made a signing by that stage of the window and more than likely lost, with deadwood on the bench instead.

Perisic produced two of the best corner deliveries we have seen in years within a few minutes of coming on against Chelsea, and that was with his weaker foot…

I think he’ll do just fine in this league

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/footbal...-want-thomas-meunier-plan-sell-10m-aaron-wan/

"At the same time United have finally been in contact with the representatives of Lazio’s Sergej Milinkovic-Savic. Telegraph Sport revealed last week that the Serbian midfielder, long linked to United, was a potential target and would cost £42million."

Jason Burt seems to think he'd cost £42m (apologies if posted)
Reading the BBC roundup this morning is like a long list of players Man utd want and who don't want Man utd.?

Agree completely, imagine how bad it would be if we didn’t have the “war chest”. We’re acting as if we’re doing something special yet our rivals do the same every year.

Oooh! oooh! I can play this game too!

Imagine how great it would have been if we were owned by someone with the backing of a wealthy sovereign nation!

Imagine how bad it would have been if we were owned by the Glazers!

Imagine if we still had Nuno, how bad would that window have been!

Imagine if we had Pep as our manager, how good would that window have been!

But, in reality, how anyone can not be happy with this window is beyond me - we've added quality depth to the squad, we've picked up a few prospects for the future, we have signed players that could be "first 11" (although I hate that term). And, most importantly we have got rid of players that have no future here.

We have done what we needed to do in this window, and personally I couldn't give a fuck what other teams do in this or have done in any previous window.

But we don't operate in a vacuum... What other clubs do matters greatly, whether we like it or not.
You can be happy with the changed approach this window while realizing that it's nothing out of the ordinary in the world of the Premier League. Yes, these are giddy heights for us Spurs fans, but owners pumping 100-200m into their club for a summer transfer window is becoming par for the course. The Chavs are blowing everyone away with their spending while Woolwich also have been investing heavily for a few years in a row. So at the very least it's running to stand still.
The only thing highlighted by the appearance of this ENIC investment is how much they have been starving the club of funds in their previous 21 years...
