Perisic maybe used as a utility player, he has the potential to play most positions on the pitch. Another LWB doesn’t seem overkill if Reggy leaves imo.

5 wing backs could make sense, 6 would be too many though. Sess hasn't proven to be over the injuries so an additional lwb gives us extra insurance. I think Perisic can be a versatile player who can push further forward as well. He would mostly start lwb but gives us options.

I agree.

Just hypothesizing why we're looking to sign another LWB.

Conte likes having 2 players for every position - so it seems odd having 3.
I think it's mainly to do with the long term fitness of Sessegnon. It may help to have an extra lwb to cover in case sessegon is out for any length of time.

Perisic on his own won't be enough. Even though the guy is a machine, but can't expect him to play all games, and Reguilon seems the likely one to be sold as well.

So it would make sense to have 3 for the left side.

Lol....league...naaah...a cup yes. League we were 30 points off it.
This type of thinking really annoys me (and you are not the only one with this view as most of the media does as well). When the season starts we and the Liverpools and Man Cities of this world will all start at 0. Its not a case that they will continue to have 30 points (or whatever the amount is) head start!

This is gonna sound like I'm knocking our business and it's not meant to come across that way...... we doing business.. great... we not waiting until the last weeks....great

For me it's 3 players north of 30 and a prospect for the future. The window has juuuuust opened and I'll get excited when I see quality that's long term. Once again I'm not knocking our business.....I'm more circumspect at this moment in time.... not excited not disappointed etc.
If it’s a change of philosophy then fine if it proves to work. Whatever we’ve tried before, for the most, hasn’t.

The news is flying in today chaps!

Richarlison is in advanced negotiations to switch from Everton to Tottenham. The value of the negotiation is around 60 million euros. Brazilian striker already discusses contract with Spurs

?

Personally not heard anything on this but there is plenty I don't hear so could well be true.

Hate his attitude and how he carries himself on the pitch (falling over 500 times) but I would be interested to see what Conte could do with him and it was rumoured a few weeks back that he was a big fan.

I genuinely think Conte could turn him into a monster.

He pretty much singlehandedly saved Everton from relegation.

Agreed! Also, I would hazard a guess this may well be true as we supposedly tried Rashford and so he would fit the type of player we are after. I did say yesterday that LCB & S would be the two biggest outlays this window but I know that's not groundbreaking.

Personally think there’s better out there but he’s young and he fits the role of playing in all 3 positions and think like jota ect he will become much better with better players around him

Just Wondering where we would’ve finished if conte (edit) had us for the whole season? I’m sure there is a table or stat that would show performance since Conte’s arrival against the big four?

I tend to agree maybe wishful thinking but I do believe we are going to assemble the squad to compete with the top four and I think we’re showing that we can do that already based on this year‘s performance. With extra additions and the players that the manager wants and being backed by the chairman and the club I think we have a real chance. I’m not saying we will win it but we will definitely compete with the top four is how I feel.

Most likely due to Sessegnon's injury problems, plus Perisic can play either wing back or wide forward.
Someone posted stats the other day showing Perisic has barely ever played on the right. You don’t bring in a WC LWB and put them on the right.

Anyway still think it’s a strange one. Interesting news on Richarlson too
