This will be a hard deal to do as Inter will want as much as possible and will also need to make it look like they’ve put up a fight.

It should be hard too, Bastoni is one of the best CBs in the world.

So Inter now don't want him to leave? I thought they had to sell.....

Honestly we were told that with Lautaro and Skriniar before. We are told Barcelona has no money yet they manage to sign new ones all the time. We are told there is some Financial Fair Play and yet Paris spend more on Mbappe than other clubs are worth.
The big names in the game find their ways.

As in every situation like this I'm going to guess Chelsea are to blame! I wonder if Chelsea offering Lukaku to them at a cut price has led to them changing their plans for the window.

Hopefully it's just typical back and forth negotiations.

I haven't heard any different as yet regarding his stance and as I posted he's told Conte personally he would come.

As for Inter they up the price every time once you are close. We've seen it before and I posted as much a few days ago so that part wouldn't surprise me one bit.

Could all just be part of their transfer game, and Bastoni may just be playing hard to get to try and get better terms out of us. Fingers crossed it all works out...

Of course he’ll be speaking to Perisic too, seeing what the training ground and club is like etc.

Hopefully Perisic can help Conte and FP sell the club.

Must admit I do enjoy the consistent story structure of you saying "Hey this is the situation but prepare yourself for this" then the gradual transition to panicking as nobody prepared for it to play out exactly as you warned

If he doesn't want to come, screw him and move on. So much for his love and appreciation of what Conte did for him.

I said behind closed doors Inter trying to initiate an auction. Bastoni a lot of time with Conte and committed himself to coming. We asked price they want, and we would meet it. Inter seeing this behind tricky. They know there will be a backlash from fans, and protests. So let’s see. Never was an easy one.

This will certainly put the breaks on the Bremer deal. Just have to hope City, Chelsea etc don’t start sniffing. Ultimately they still will need to sell one of their 4 stars but I guess they will want to milk every penny they can.

This is going to be harder to complete.
Inter need to maximise the fee
They also need to secure bremer (which could be difficult as others are keen on him). His agent will be playing the game between clubs.
Inter getting bremer should make this easier but I can’t imagine that inter will make this easy at any point.
And I imagine we’ll be pushing back by exploring deals with Torres, gvardiol etc to protect ourselves.
Chelsea getting involved could be a real spanner in the works.
ultimately inter don’t really want to sell any of these players and are sacrificing either bastoni or lautaro. From there perspective keeping either must be a positive.
Getting bastoni over the line will be a real coup for us

What I think will happen is we will see some more concrete Bremer to Spurs links now as Paratici will be looking to play the same game as Inter from a different angle. I think we will hear Bremer move to us, will feel quite accelerated and then suddenly Inter will take hold of it and then Bastoni will be back on the menu.

Rudiger to Madrid - already done! Bremer to the Chavs; Lukaku to Inter. Sorted.:poop:

They have to get some money in the books. It was thought that Bastoni would be the sacrificial lamb, but there are others.

Sure I read somewhere a few days back that maybe Bastoni did not want to leave.

Yeah I'm not overly optimistic but as Herc and others have said, the Inter fans absolutely love this guy and the club has to make it look like they are at least attempting to put up a fight to keep him. Fingers crossed as I dont think there is anyone better out there for us in terms of fit.

I'm pretty confident we'd get Bastoni over Chelsea or Utd, the one I'd worry about is City.

Where a spanner could be put into the works is if Chelsea/Utd bid for Skriniar or Bremer IMO.

Hope we set a deadline on this.

LCB is arguably one of the most important transfers of the summer for Conte’s system.

We can’t be faffing around for too long.

I dont get this logic though. The latest discussion all roots from talk that Bastoni is reluctant to leave himself. Surely that only reflects badly on Inter if they were to sell, not positive. If they were really desperate to sell they'd be feeding that he was begging to go i imagine.

Obviously Inter will fight back on fee, thats their job.
