My big concern of CDK, and don’t get me wrong I think he’s a very exciting prospect, is that he’s still very raw and relatively untested against high quality opponents. Yes he’s played well in a handful of European games but it’s still a big risk to have him as our 1 forward addition imo. If we were to bring him in along with a more mature forward then I would have less concerns and he could very well step up seamlessly like Kulu but Seria A is a very different prospect to the Jupiler League. As said, think he’s a big prospect and would not be against him at all but I can see it being a risky choice if he were our only addition.

I wonder what is happening with the wage budget and wage to turnover ratio?
The reason I ask is that we could have £500m to spend as a transfer budget, but if we are tight on wages we literally wouldn't be able to spend it.
I wonder if this is also being discussed as part of the "backing Conte" . You'd think it must be but you never know with Levy.
It's always the reason we have to sell before we buy, I think money's always been there to some extent.

How much do you think we are going to make off the champ lge. It’s 12m for getting into the group stage. 3 full houses at home. Conte record in Europe is crap. He will be trying to win the league.
No guarantee we will get into the knockouts.

I think you are mixing up our turnover / revenue and our transfer budget. The £500m you mention will be overall revenue and not our transfer budget. Thus if revenue increases significantly then so can our wage bill whilst remaining inside a healthy ratio.

I think with prize money, TV money and extra home game revenue, the CL will be worth £30-40M for group stages, up to £100M if we win the whole thing

Agreed - Great prospect (like Gil) but not sure if he's ready for the PL, which makes the short term outlay difficult on him.

I love Martinez and if we really are not going for Dybala he’d probably be my top choice. But the issue with any forward we spend 60+ mil on is that this money will have a knock on effect further down the pitch and I feel the big fees should be spent on a CD and a CM.

I would easily take Tarkowski on a free. Being able to rotate without too much of a quality drop will be key next season, when competing in both the PL and the CL (hopefully).

Lautaro over Dybala any day for me. He’s just got that toughness and strength that makes me think he’d adapt to the PL fairly easily. Dybala would find it hard IMO.

Frankly I will support us signing anyone Conte wants.

There are people who said that losing Lo Celso, Ndombele, Gil and Dele in January, and only replacing them with Bentancur and Kulusevski, would leave us somehow weaker.

The bloke knows what's up. Give him the keys.

I think you are missing my point. Of course £500m isnt our budget as it was a number I made up to illustrate that the wage budget needs to parallel the transfer budget otherwise we will be in the same position again with having to sell before we buy regardless of whatever the budget actually is
