Now there’s a proper statement from a source. So let’s move on from Dybala
If true you have to question why he was never of interest to us
Now there’s a proper statement from a source. So let’s move on from Dybala
My big concern of CDK, and don’t get me wrong I think he’s a very exciting prospect, is that he’s still very raw and relatively untested against high quality opponents. Yes he’s played well in a handful of European games but it’s still a big risk to have him as our 1 forward addition imo. If we were to bring him in along with a more mature forward then I would have less concerns and he could very well step up seamlessly like Kulu but Seria A is a very different prospect to the Jupiler League. As said, think he’s a big prospect and would not be against him at all but I can see it being a risky choice if he were our only addition. He's MY first choice but there are others also I'd prefer over Dybala. He's a quality player no question, I'm just not convinced he's the best fit for us, but it's not me building the squad and how it will all come together.
There were reports going around last week that they may be now more open to selling him
Well then let's not buy them either - that doesn't mean there aren't excellent midfield players available for a shed load lessShopping in England, Southampton want similar for JWP, and Villa not far off for McGinn
If true you have to question why he was never of interest to us
I really hate how so many aggregator accounts are taking throw away half comments from other sources and twisting them into definitive statements. I know it’s nothing new, but it’s not exactly hard to cross check most things.Watched his youtube vid. From my understanding he doesn't "think" Paratici wants him, or maybe Dybala wouldn't want to sign for Paratici, but he's not ruling it out completely. At this moment he doubts he'll come.
How much do you think we are going to make off the champ lge. It’s 12m for getting into the group stage. 3 full houses at home. Conte record in Europe is crap. He will be trying to win the league. But we have to start thinking like a big club if we want to challenge. If we have 300m to spend which is possible now with champs league and 6-8 outgoings then the proposed fee of 70m euros isn’t that outrageous. Particularly if we can get Dybala on a free etc.
Imagine against Liverpool and city how good we’d look if we could pack midfield and add goals from midfield and then free up son and Kane to counter more. Plus then having Dybala and Kulu off the bench if we need a goal!
Plus against teams that sit deep have SMS plus Benta with our front 3 would add a huge new dimension to our play, as teams couldn’t leave our midfield free to shoot and we would be way more creative.
he offers us incredible amounts of tactical flexibility and offers us something we hugely lack in midfield. I appreciate people want Eriksen back but this guy is more dangerous than Eriksen on paper.
In theory we could sign this guy, have 240m left, get Dybala and Johnson free, say 20m in agent fees and signing fees, 220m, Theo Hernandez 50m, hakimi 60m, 110m, gvardiol 60m, Phillips 25m, 25m left then de vrij 15m, and we are left with an incredible first 11 and squad.
I KNOW THAT IS A PIPE DREAM, before everyone jumps on it, I’m merely pointing out how it is possible.
I think you are mixing up our turnover / revenue and our transfer budget. The £500m you mention will be overall revenue and not our transfer budget. Thus if revenue increases significantly then so can our wage bill whilst remaining inside a healthy ratio.I wonder what is happening with the wage budget and wage to turnover ratio?
The reason I ask is that we could have £500m to spend as a transfer budget, but if we are tight on wages we literally wouldn't be able to spend it.
I wonder if this is also being discussed as part of the "backing Conte" . You'd think it must be but you never know with Levy.
It's always the reason we have to sell before we buy, I think money's always been there to some extent.
I think with prize money, TV money and extra home game revenue, the CL will be worth £30-40M for group stages, up to £100M if we win the whole thingHow much do you think we are going to make off the champ lge. No guarantee we will get into the knockouts.
Does 4th mean we have qualifying fixtures? Or is it guaranteed group stages. How much do you think we are going to make off the champ lge. It’s 12m for getting into the group stage. 3 full houses at home. Conte record in Europe is crap. He will be trying to win the league.

Agreed - Great prospect (like Gil) but not sure if he's ready for the PL, which makes the short term outlay difficult on him.My big concern of CDK, and don’t get me wrong I think he’s a very exciting prospect, is that he’s still very raw and relatively untested against high quality opponents. I love Martinez and if we really are not going for Dybala he’d probably be my top choice. But the issue with any forward we spend 60+ mil on is that this money will have a knock on effect further down the pitch and I feel the big fees should be spent on a CD and a CM.dybala to inter please - martinez to spurs. twice the player younger
Pretty sure it's guaranteed group stages nowadays for the Premier league.Does 4th mean we have qualifying fixtures? Or is it guaranteed group stages.
As well as buying a LCB we could possibly sign James Tarkowski on a free as a squad player. This could help us raise funds by selling Sanchez and Rodon for 25-30m. Is Tarkowski better than these 2? Also the advantage of being HG.
I think you are missing my point. Of course £500m isnt our budget as it was a number I made up to illustrate that the wage budget needs to parallel the transfer budget otherwise we will be in the same position again with having to sell before we buy regardless of whatever the budget actually isI think you are mixing up our turnover / revenue and our transfer budget. The £500m you mention will be overall revenue and not our transfer budget. Thus if revenue increases significantly then so can our wage bill whilst remaining inside a healthy ratio.
