Imo this will get done on Monday. Wolves want him for the weekend which makes perfect sense. We probably know this so bit of posturing before. Get it tied up Monday/Tuesday. Hopefully he doesn’t get injured.

Not 100% up on Wolves owners finances but I know for sure they took a big down turn in recent times and was even talk they’d have to sell. They are certainly not progressively wealthy owners like a club say like Villa currently. They are in tourist industry and Covid hit hard.

When he’s worth 20 mil
But Levy offers nil
That’s Traore

In all seriousness though, happy with a bit of negotiation for someone coming towards the end of their contract in 18 months. I think he’ll be a great signing for us. Maybe another reason for the hold up is if they want Doherty back.
Yes I'm hearing that to sign Traore in an outright transfer they're asking for £20m, but if the deal includes Doherty it's £25m they're asking for.

Seems pretty clear to me.

We bid 15m, they want 25m, settle at 20m and everyone goes home happy.

and they say transfers are complicated...........Pah!

I wasn't convinced that Traore was at the level to really improve us, but his attributes at less than £20mil is a no brainer.

Adds good cover and something a bit different whether as an attacking wing back or in the forward positions and i can't see that, even if he flops to an extent, that we wouldn't make that money back again if we were to sell given his age.

That's only if David Dickinson comes to the table to talk some sense into both parties.
Lets hope Wolves don't decide to take him to auction... :cautious:

We are paying more than that to Jose, Nuno, and maybe even Poch just to not manage the club.

Its time we stop sending money on former managers, and start spending a little of that on players.
Start? We've spent a lot of money on a lot of players. Moreso than on managers. The problem is the more we've spent the worse the players tend to be. So I'm not sure throwing more money at is is necessarily the solution. Maybe spend more money on someone who is competent at signing the right players.

£15m for him. That's a fucking embarrassment , and I don't care what our moral compasses say.
Is it a bigger embarrassment than when they wanted £50 million for him in the summer? Everyone is a dick when it comes to transfers. They're free to reject it.
