I think Tanganga, dier ( Bring on the abuse, there is a player in there and rodon will pleasantly surprise conte.

I genuinely think he can get a really good back three out of what we have right now .

I personally also think the midfield and back up striker situation is in far more need of attention..

If we can get at least one in each position there in January I think that sets us up nicely and gives him the season to assess who can and won't make it.

Agree. I bang on about the fact that our midfield is so weird. We have good players on paper, just no one has really stepped up and formed an undroppable partnership. I really think we could use a #10 - no clue on names currently though! Wirtz seems like the next big up and coming CAM.

We see great performances from GLC at Argentina, and he had a great season at Betis before coming here, but he hasn't chipped in with enough chances created, goals, or assists. N'dombele is probably a deep lying playmaker, but due to his work rate and fitness, had to move into a 10 role - where he hasn't provided enough, only in flashes. PEH works his socks off and seems like a leader, but at times I feel he's a jack-of-all-traits midfielder. Skipp has an extremely high ceiling, but I think when paired with PEH they've been able to be solid, but our attack lacks creation.

On paper I always felt one of PEH/Skipp (preferably rotating to keep fresh) and TN with GLC would be enough creativity in a midfield 3, but it just hasn't happened yet. Dele, too, glad he's in shape and working hard, but just not providing the G/A.

With the right manager there's a top 5-8 PL defense in our current squad.

Conte did not join Spurs to be the manager of a top 5-8 team.

Tanganga is young and IMO probably needs a loan to club that will play him every week to get his form up to the right level.

Rodon is a bit of an unknown still but shows promise, again a loan would likely do him good.

Sanchez still IMO has the potential to step up, we'll know if this is possible by Xmas and a decision can be taken then.

Dier is not and will never be a top 4 starting CB. I really like the guy, he has exactly the right attitude. But he's not got the skill to be what we need long term. If he's happy as a rotation option then that's cool, but I can't see him as a starting CB under Conte.

Hopefully we can get some money / swap credit for Ndombele in Jan. His value should be about £30m, so we'll take a hit but if Conte thinks he doesn't cut it then we need to move him on and use the money to bring in a Conte player.

Realistically i can't see anyone other than Lo Celso, PEH and Skipp being part of Conte's midfield choices. That's 3 players for 3 positions. So we'll need to make at least two signings there to see us through to the summer when Sarr joins.

Pogba too, just saying

Just imagine if Pogba did come to us. And Conte got him back to his original Juve form. Man U would be gutted. Lost him or free to Juve. He puts in World Class performances. Man U pay £89M for him to bring him home. Patchy form. Joins us for a free. World class again.

Vlahovic, Kessie, a #10, a CB, and potentially another RWB would be my list over the next 2 windows.

Still really interested to see what happens at RWB/LWB under Conte, especially against sides we SHOULD be beating. Emerson/Reguilion seem like the obvious choices, but Conte will see we need more chances created. We've seen good work rate from Bergwijn, Gil, Lucas while Sess is also touted for a long-term wingback role. I also don't want to say it, but we do have Doherty is was decent as a wingback as well.

Could see any of the ones mentioned rising to the occasion and not be surprised!
Agree but I think we need more, sooner. Newcastle might be able to do us some favours here in Jan as they will be desperate to sign some PL experienced players.

Personally I think we need the following in Jan:

1 x CB (De Vrij / De Light / Skrinniar / Bastoni)
1 x MF (Kessie)
1 x #10 (Aouar)
1 x FW (Vlahovic)

I think for RWB back-up we have the option of Bergwijn, possibly Lucas and in a massive pinch Doherty that should keep us doing ok until the end of the season.

For LWB back-up we have the option of Sessegnon and maybe Gil, hopefully Sess can become the player we signed him to be and provide competition there for Reguilon.

Whilst I agree with you, Conte reportedly wanted to sign Ndombele when he was at Inter, so maybe he will get the best out of him.

Probably didn't realise what a shoddy trainer he is, much like we didn't. He needs to knuckle down and fast or he won't make it with Conte.

If he can then great, really up for Ndombele being the player we all wanted him to be. If Conte can turn him into that then we've solved one problem.

its not weird the midfield is the biggest problem in the side apart from Hojberg and Skipp who have done ok - all the talk about buying players up front and at the back the midfield needs addressing first and foremost because it isn't good enough has no balance and 4 players who are coming into their third years of under performing and letting the side down

Kessie could be good has not really hit the heights that were expected of him and for my money needs to work harder but Conte might be able to get that for him we shall have to wait and see

They dont even own Chiesa yet... its an option to buy. They are in financial trouble and currently sit 9th. No way they spend big money on chiesa in the summer if they are screwed financially.
did you see him play last night the boy is a superstar they will definetly take up the option

from wiki:

On 5 October 2020, Chiesa signed a two-year loan deal with Juventus; a €3 million loan for the first season and a €7 million loan for the second season, with a conditional obligation to buy for €40 million plus €10 million in variables

Here’s the good thing. We can totally put the Ndombele question to bed after this. If Conte gets him humming then it’s ideal. If Ndombele can’t hack it then we know. No more excuses or doubt either way. Sink or swim so we can move forward together or apart.

Looks like we are looking at getting in a few players who are mostly non HG. So we would need to clear out a few non HG to accommodate the incomings - as such, giving everyone a clean slate may not be possible.

If we’re getting in a couple of CBs, it’s likely to be at the expense of two of Sanchez, Dier & Rodon - possibly Davies too.

If we’re playing a WB system, it’s best to sell Doherty (because of his age, pace and general quality) as we already have a number of younger players in the squad that Conte can mould into a proper RWB.

I read that is its only obligation if he reaches a certain number of games. Ether way, if we are really interested (which i doubt), you would think Fabio would know the details as he was the one who brought him to Juve in the first place.

Edit:

this is the official statement by Juve. Seems that yes, obligation if he plays X amount of games, and if he doesn't Juve still have a first option.

Juventus Football Club S.p.A. announces that an agreement with ACF Fiorentina for the temporary acquisition, until 30 June 2022, of the registration rights of the player Federico Chiesa has been finalized for a consideration of € 10 million, of which € 3 million for sporting season 2020/2021 and € 7 million for sporting season 2021/2022.

The agreement further entails:

The obligation for Juventus to definitely acquire the player’s registrations rights, subject to the achievement of certain given sporting objectives by the end of the season 2021/2022;

The right for Juventus to definitively acquire the player’s registration rights in case these given objectives are not achieved.

In both cases, the agreed consideration for the definitive acquisition is € 40 million, payable in three years, which might be increased up to a maximum of € 10 million upon achievement of further performance objectives over the duration of the employment contract with the player.

A bit of experience (+/- 200 matches in the Serie A alone) and calmness, I think Romero would really benefit from this as well

I dont see him happening, under Conte he played the free role of the CB's and was allowed to press further forward, the same role that Romero played in Italy

I suspect we go back in for Kounde with the Sanchez swap deal

Let's see but this manager has a history of improving players.

And a small point but dier already played as a centre back in a top four team.

Annoyingly it looks like we will actually regret not signing Tomiyasu. Would be perfect for the right side of the back 3

This.^^

Puzzled me why we were going for another RCB in Kounde after we signed Romero since it looked likely we were going to be playing with a back 4 under Nuno. Feels like like Paratici started building the squad for Conte last summer.

Or we are happy we got Emerson as he is probably more suited to play RWB than Tomiyasu.

For the RCB we have Sanchez, Tanganga, Rodon. I guess it is fine for now.
