No striker being brought in is bizarre. Still think we missed a big trick not going for Ings. We are relying on two players to score the bulk of our goals., if Son and Kane get injured we are stuffed, we have a totally raw Dane Scarlett carrying the weight of the team.

Bringing in Traore does nothing to alleviate this either, as he can't score in a brothel.

If we do indeed end up with 4 Right backs, do we need to sack Nuno and appoint Southgate as he loves a 4 RB squad?

Keep your powder dry. 12 hours to go yet.

Of course - I'm not melting down just yet, I just think that if we only bring Emerson in and don't even get in a forward capable of rotating/scoring in the ECL then it's been a average to poor window and evidences poor squad planning.

first people moaning why we have to sell first to buy.

then they moan why buy 4th RB before selling one.

There is nothing wrong with a player seeing out his contract.
That's true, but we don't owe him playing time if he and his agents keep scuppering moves that we work hard for him to get.

it's not like his stock is going to rise after this year and the moves might not be there then

This has confused me all window - we are told we’d need to shift Sissoko, Winks or Ndombele to bring a CM in or Dier, Sanchez need to leave to sign another CB - yet we have signed another RB for 30m and have been chasing another winger for considerably more than that. And you can only play one RB and one RW, you can literally play twice as many CBs and CMs at any one time

Aurier has one year left and I don't think any of us want MD playing regularly on his current form. Maybe we felt the option to purchase Emerson at this price wouldn't be available next summer or in Jan even.

Scraping the barrel for outrage there a bit matey.

With Sissoko it's more from a squad depth perspective admittedly :ROFLMAO: and Skipp is here now so meh

TBF I'm not too bothered about midfield now it looks like Ndombele is staying. With him, GLC, and maybe even Gil as options in that third creative mid position I think we'll be okay. My major gripe is losing 30 combined goals/assists from Vinicius and Bale and not replacing them at all.

Honestly don't think Ings would have picked us over villa even if we did. He will start for them every week.

If we have decided not to buy a back up striker, does this mean Nuno thinks that Scarlett can do that job for us?

I think that's far more exciting than buying yet another short term fix but each to their own.

Emerson Royal has already passed exams and has just signed a contract with Tottenham. Clubs will become official soon. Via @TNTSportsBR

We are also still looking at possibly bringing in another CM. No names given but we are still in the mix.

If we manage to get Traore and a creative CM then I will be *very* pleasantly surprised.

It's frustrating because we're so close to a really impressive window but it looks like there's a chance we'll just be left short in key positions once again.
