He’s not a pure creative hub, far from it actually, he’s more of a ball carrier and progressor than someone who receives between the lines and isn’t naturally a goal and assist threat from higher starting positions, and he’s been on a downwards trend since 20/21. I mean, if we can get the 2018-2020 Aouar then that’s a fantastic player, and he very well could’ve let his level drop as he clearly has wanted to leave for a while, but then that’s another concern if true. But would be cheap and can time and execute the final action quite well from many different angles. Does score and assist from deeper midfield starting positions due to his special awareness and runs ahead of the ball. Has also shone on biggest stages. Needs to handle physicality better and improve toughness to combat his small stature.

Dele isnt a playmaker though. From deep he isnt going to play that long pass through the lines to release our forwards

Not saying Dele or Winks is the answer to anything. I was just referring to the fact that their attitudes were brought into question. Nuno has played both, but TN cannot get on the pitch. Tells me something regarding either fitness or attitude not being right.

it’s suggested he could cost 20-25m.

if that’s the case, it shouldn’t be a question of adama OR aouar. any club with serious ambitions signs both

I'm pretty sure we would get both as we want a winger + midfielder

But I think signing Aouar is contingent on Sissoko leaving.

If Traore falls through?

TOTTENHAM INTERESTED IN AOUAR

Tottenham are interested in signing Lyon attacking midfielder Houssem Aouar.

Sky Sports News has learnt informal talks have been held with Aouar’s representatives.

Aouar has two years left on his Lyon contract and wants to weigh up all his options before deciding on his future.

Aouar’s preference is to play Champions League football and he is aware he may have more options this time next summer.
Nope we want both

Not sure what to make of this chap.

Seems like a number 8 box to box midfielder type rather than a playmaker or defensive midfielder.

If we can 4-3-3 he could slot into the midfield three I guess but not sure how good his passing is?

Also he partnered Ndombele at Lyon and look how he’s turned out for us… :cautious:
