I call more PR bullshit. He stopped off in the covid capital of America en route home? If true why not nip it in the bud yesterday. Besides the fact he would know he would be late back for training

That makes him come across as even less professional!

Harry Kane in Florida but expected back in Tottenham training by end of the week

Striker missed a second day of pre-season training but Spurs sources believe he is planning to return over the weekend

Harry Kane is planning to report back to Tottenham Hotspur by the end of the week, despite making a pit-stop in Florida on his way back from a holiday in the Bahamas.

England captain Kane missed a second day of pre-season training on Tuesday and is not expected to return before the weekend, as he will be required to complete a period of isolation on his arrival in the UK.

Kane has been holidaying in the Bahamas since the European Championships, but, rather than flying straight back to the UK to begin his isolation, it is understood the 28-year-old stopped off in Florida, which is also on the UK government’s amber travel list, before returning home.

Tottenham have been made aware of his movements and remain disappointed that Kane did not report back on Monday of this week for Covid testing ahead of joining pre-season training.

The Kane saga has not, however, stopped Spurs from continuing with their own preparations as the club have now agreed a deal with Atalanta, worth an initial £42million rising to £47m, for defender Cristian Romero and have allowed goalkeeper Joe Hart to join Celtic.

Chairman Daniel Levy is keen to hold face-to-face talks with Kane over his future, with the 28-year-old hoping to force through a move to Manchester City.

There are even unconfirmed suggestions that City will hold back Sergio Aguero’s old number 10 shirt, rather than giving it to Jack Grealish, in the hope they can sign Kane by the end of the transfer window.

But Levy is adamant that his hand will not be forced by Kane and there is disagreement over the supposed gentleman’s agreement struck between the pair last summer.

Kane believes he has an agreement in place to leave Tottenham following another trophyless season, having first asked to go 12 months ago. But Levy has always been against selling his star man to a Premier League rival and wants at least £150million.

City have so far indicated a willingness to start the bidding for Kane at £100m, which falls short of Levy’s valuation.

Kane’s actions have prompted debate among former professionals and Tottenham fans, some of whom are understanding of his desire to leave and others who believe he must honour his contract.

But Kane feels that accusations he has ‘gone to war’ with Tottenham have been overblown and that he has done no more than reiterate his position.

The six-year contract Kane signed in 2018 still has three years to run and Levy is desperate to do everything in his power to keep him for at least one more year.

should be easy enought to find out. One reason to go there i would think would be to talk to Tom Brady who he apparently has a friendship with.
I don't doubt he went there. Its the way it's said as if he just accidentally stopped off without realising the ramifications that he will now have to isolate and miss training and he wasn't trying to force a move

Sorry to be a dick, but: I don't really like this "Charlie Kane has bad taste" chat

If he acts like a prick, that's one thing, but taste is personal - he might well not like what some of you have.

By all means criticise him for not acting well though - knock yourselves out on that!

England captain.
World Cup golden boot holder.
Premier League golden boot holder.
Premier League playmaker holder.
Home grown.
Entering peak years.
On track to break the all time PL goals record.
On track to break the all time England goals record.
Wanted by a domestic rival.

All of that equates to a world record fee (current world record is £198M). The PL is after all the richest league. And Man C are the richest club in the world’s richest league.

Put up or shut up. £200M.

It’s ultimately a game of cat and mouse now between City and Levy.
£100 million is still a LOT of money, and I can understand City’s point of view regarding Kane’s age and ankle injury history.

Will they come back in a year and offer the same? Unlikely, and they’d probably offer only £60 million on the basis of him being free the following year (if they still want him).

Meanwhile, would a stroppy Kane be of any use to us?
A focussed Kane, alongside player investment and new tactics and vision, “could” push us back into the CL and the big extra pot of cash that brings.

The problem is that there is no guarantee of that push, and therefore we could miss the income again as well as the high(ish) transfer fee.
At least the £100 million offer is guaranteed.

Meh.

We don't have to sell unless we need the money. Sell now and you leave yourself open to the next unwanted bid, and the next.

Stick to your guns Levy

BREAKING NEWS.

Kane has been dumped from my FF team.

We had a meeting at the training ground this morning, voices were raised, fingers pointed and the word “obviously” was used 319 times.

It’s over.

in the reserves to rot?

Nothing new but Mike McGrath says the ball is now in Man City’s court. He says it is difficult to do. Levy doesn’t want to sell, but does a big bid from Man City change that. Levy is at the moment adamant he doesn’t want to sell.

Grealish’s reps know how to do a PL record deal so are more ahead of getting Grealish to Man City than Kane. It’s a big week for it. He sounds like he thinks it will happen.

Romano thinks it’s unlikely they will sign both. McGrath thinks Grealish is further down the line but City do want both. Grealish more likely if it is one of the two.
