That’s whats being a good target man is all about I am afraid, you have to be fighting with one or more CBs all the time and winning the fight physically, you will have to be able to bully the CBs but he doesn’t seem to be able to do that and loses the ball a lot of times today but then again that’s just my opinion, you are welcome to have yours

That's one part of leading the line, sure, but far from the only one. He has a decent touch, great movement and an eye for the pass. Traits just as important when leading the line. You're basically describing a Giroud or Rondon type but Kane is for example fantastic at leading the line but arguably gets bullied quite a lot by CBs as well.

Well in Tottenham. Villa without Grealish are pretty toothless but still 3 or 4 very good performances from our lot - second half in particular: Lucas, Tanganga, Hojbjerg, Kane. Sanchez and Rodon looked assured in the second half but against better teams that first 20 minutes would be punished.
That was a starting 11 that hadnt played before coming off the back of 2 embarrassing defeats.
They'll be more confident now and IF Jose sticks with that core they'll get better.

Certainly wasn’t cheap!
Lol no
To be honest it was a total guess at a french full back. The only other one that I could think of was bixente lizarazu.
I didnt know he actually did commentary- let alone controversial stuff like that

Shouldn't moan today but Sanchez regularly gets far too tight and worse he's been that way since we signed him which means he's either not learning, not listening or it's a habit he's not going to get rid of.

Usually a big critic of Davidson, but put in two 80's style sliding tackles today and won the ball on both occasions, gets a free pass this time around.

Anyone else feel a lot more comfortable when Rodon has possession as oppressed to dier.

also 10x more composed and don’t feel like he’s going to make a mistake everytime

Today was a good game for Rodon to play. As we were low after last week , the (playing for your place) pressure was off. He played well and hopefully gets better. Not sure if he plays every week, this will present a different presure which we havnt seen him deal with.

Diers been shoehorned into that position whereas Rodon its his job. This is always telling.

I think Roden got way too much stick over the mistake against Mane. Dier, Toby and Sanchez have made far more and not gotten the same amount of attention.

I would like to see them at CB, but I'm not sure it will be this season.

Rodon should be the first name at CB with Toby or Sanchez beside.
Then Aurier and Tanganga can fight for RB
For me Sanchez is first choice and the sooner his paired with the right defender the better. Rodon looks promising too and comfortable on the left.

Tanganga potentially could be the best but for now I actually like him at right back.

What makes you say that, other than wishful thinking?

He's clearly not in Jose's plans, he picked 16 year old Devine ahesd of him on the bench.

He only reason why he played recently was due to rotation but we have no more Europa matches.

Maybe he does have a decent touch but all I see is the heavy touches when he’s under pressure, you won’t be able to utilize the skill if you don’t have the strength to hold off the CB when leading the line. I do agree he’s got good movement as I think he’s more the type of playing on the shoulder and making runs instead of a target man.

I dont get the critics today regard Sanches you have to remember that some of the free kicks given away were given only because Mike Dean is an awful ref . At least 3 of the fouls given against Sanches may not have been given with another man refereeing .
I am never happy when Mike Dean refs our matches in the circumstances a good win .

Nah Sanchez has not been getting any bypasses however Dier and Toby had until lately people are starting to realise.

Yeah, I also see him as more of an off the shoulder player than a big bully target man. Doesn't make him unable to lead the line though, you just need to adapt to it somewhat. It's like when City play with Aguero as their focal point, play to your players strengths instead of shoehorning them into a type of play.

Agree; it's just my big gripe with him is he can do some great things for 80 percent of the game and ruin it by doing some incredibly dopey things.
I'd be unfair to blame everything on him and I try not to especially when it comes to commenting immediately post-match.
