Finally some good news.
Mate I get the frustration. I’m there too. Yes he takes a part of the responsibility for sure. He’s got things wrong. But I take no happiness from it.

I’m so utterly pissed off with so many of the players. Seriously pissed. They are a major contributor to the demise of Poch as well as JM. I take no pleasure from starting the process of a conveyor belt of managers we’ve seen under ENIC, bar the Poch era. That’s what we are facing.

Correct but if you're team isn't working it's down to you to sort.
If you can't get it sorted then you get sacked.
What you say is certainly true, jezz, but there also has to be an acknowledgement that time is needed to do so, wouldn't you say?

Whatever we choose to do with manager, player and staff wise it needs to be the right choice for the sake of the club. There’s definitely problems at every position at the club, right from the top. Whether we choose to back the manager and rip out the players causing hassle or sack him and go again with fresh ideas who knows! Until the mentally of the people running the club changes into we need to be winning leagues, cups etc then really we are pissing in the wind. The thing we supporters have in common is that we all want the best for the club regardless of our different views. I personally don’t think the buck stops at Jose, I think the players, chairman and the scouting team should also take some of the blame.

Sarsipius-e-aziz, that's a bit ad hominem, wouldn't you say?

So I was awake at 3am. How do you know I don't work nights and that I was typing at work?

As it happens, I was suffering a bout of insomnia, which I get a lot due to one of my health conditions.

Now, if you want to engage in the conversation meaningfully, then I'm all ears - until I fall asleep as I've been awake for a little over 36 hours now. But I'm sure I can take the mantle up again when I wake up.
Agha 9000,

There is no at hominem here, brother. Not even an ad Eminem, nor an ad Aunty Em. Just good-old SC member banter.

Let's all take a step back and breathe, eh? All this Mourinho stuff is taking its toll. Life is good and there is more to our existence than furiously trying to force our opinions down each others' throats or gain victory in some empty digital discourse.

Let's not give in to disunity. That's just what A&C wants. He feeds off our slavish misery. Every injurious retort and angry spam rating only increases his dominion over our souls as well as engorging his ad revenue streams. Come now. We're better than that.

On the insomnia front, digital switch off is key. Even if you think SC's endless repetitive circular arguments have a soporific effect, it's outweighed by the stimulation of light.

Put the phone/tablet/laptop down an hour before your desired bed time. We'll survive not knowing your thoughts about Mourinho's innate footballing genius until morning.

Trust me on that one ?

Oh I absolutely agree. It's a shitshow of epic proportions.

But I'm glad there's the option of cutting his contract short if that's the decision Levy makes.

But there's a lot more that needs doing beside that, Daniel.

The best case scenario for me is that we win the Carabao cup and finish top 6. It's weird but I'm not really bothered about top 4 now because it will mean Jose stays. I just can't see us rebuilding with the players he would need though and we'll be in the same place. At least if he fails to qualify for CL then we're more likely to let him go. Especially if there's a clause to say failure to qualify means we can let him go for less. Get a highly unlikely win in the cup final and at least have a trophy to show for the Jose era. Get that monkey off our back of not winning anything and go get another coach who will play to our strengths and promote youth.

Ghorbaan-et-beram,

That was funny - made me giggle. That A&C is a smart cookie, though - he always finds a way.

Sadly, I've tried the light switch off, but it's a function of something else. I do appreciate the sentiment, though.

I bear no ill-will to any (well, most). But I enjoy a good debate as anyone can see when I get up a full head of steam. The only thing I need is someone to give me a prod when I'm running a little too hot, which is itself another function of my health, like my insomnia. I'm always mindful that we're all Spurs fans here and that trumps everything for me. We may get heated, we may even get tetchy and rude with each other, but we're still one tribe and I'll say to you and to everyone that even if I seem to forget that, I don't.

Big lovings to you all.

EDIT: I'm off to make a cheesecake. Nowrooz tomorrow.

...and if Arsenal win the EL? How will you feel if they are back in the CL and we are once again on the outside looking in?

We have had managers like Santini / Gross /ramos who have had less time to succeed even AVB had only 80 games certainly less than Jose
Just how long would you give Jose to get things right ?
Or from my point of view how long are you going to put up with this shit show .

No, if personnel are not performing, them individuals go on a PIP (Performance Improvement Plan), which is the first step for any disciplinary action. If the personnel doesn’t meet the objectives of that PIP that individual will then get a written warning, followed by dismissal if still improvement is not met by the objectives outlined in the PIP.

The manager is not accountable for individuals lack of individual performance, a manager is rated on the objectives set by its own manager and performance of the team.

I heard a bit of talksport this morning from a supporter who has been a spurs fan for over 40 years, he said the worst thing was that his kids had followed suit. Last night they came down to him and told him they didn't want to follow spurs anymore. I feel his pain, I watched the game with one of my lads last night, he was absolutely gutted, it really makes you question why we still do it. I will always be a spurs fan but the love has been tainted it's sad to say.

This is the difference between being a supporter and being a 'fan'. You support a team through ups and downs. I feel football supporting can be tainted in general, if there's a super league with no promotion and relegation, say, and it does feel frustrating when you've got the financial doping new rich but there's a lot to admire about how THFC have gone about trying to grow, instead of selling out like others.

But how do we calculate that? What date do we flick over from 'not enough' to 'enough'? It's not black and white is what I'm saying.

what more do you want him to fuck up before its enough what are you clinging on to ? - the last two performances gutless beaten before we went on the pitch where can he possibly go now the players don't back him the supporters sure as hell don't back him when is enough ?

Locotoro what you said about your management in relation to football management surely is like chalk and cheese . The management of a football team is a hands on job day to day . Management in normal work place you rarely see the management you just cannot compare the two in my opinion .
Of course you can, management in any walk of life is a hands on, day to day job. If you rarely see your direct manager daily then they're simply not managing their workforce.
