Tottenham pulled out of signing Philippe Coutino on transfer deadline day - because the loan fee Barcelona demanded was too high. Tottenham's rivals Arsenal were also scared off by the cost of a season-long loan for Coutinho , which would have been a whopping £40million. That would have comprised a staggering £30million transfer fee demanded by Barcelona, plus the Brazilian attacker's wages of almost £1million per month.

If we were even considering going anywhere close to this then that's how much it will cost us to keep Eriksen for a year, too.
