Would go with:

Lloris, KWP, Toby, Verts, Rose, Winks, Ndombele, Lamela, Eriksen, Moura, Kane in a 4-2-3-1

Off the ball hes fantastic but I think we’ll sooner need Sissoko protecting KWP than Lamela. Eriksen is better with the ball.

So who do you drop? Lamela for Moura ? Maybe ...

Probably Winks and have lucas Eriksen and Lamela behind Kane.

We'll be ripped aapart with a diamond, and although I want us to move to a 4231 more permanently, I don't think this is the game for it. I don't think we can get away with a back four against them, and we seemed to have abandoned 3421, so it wouldn't be surprised if we go with a 532. It worked very well away to City last year and was our best performance there in years.

Lloris

KWP Alderweireld Sanchez Vertonghen Rose

Eriksen Winks Ndombele

Lucas Kane

Id love to go 4231 but im not sure we are ready right now against this city side. If the new recruits were more upto speed and we had son AND alli thsn maybe but were not there yet. Id keep the cm area nice and beefy and look to supply kane and moura.

Id personally prefer aurier rb if possible. Hes much better coping with 1v1 confrontations. Should have a decent bench too if alli and Gio make it.

Lloris

Vertonghen

Walker-Peters, Ndombele, Dier, Sessegnon

Lamela, Eriksen, Son

Moura, Kane

Can become 442, 433, 4231, 4222, and 4141 without any subs.

Think we need to fit in Sissoko in the team, for his overall physicality and non-stop work rate.

Sissoko has to start for me. We'll need his strength & hassling around the midfield.

I don't think we'll physically fight off City by having one player with a little bit of brute force. As per usual when facing City, I think we need to catch them off guard by springing a surprise on them, not by choosing to do the exact thing Pepito is preparing the team for.

We've no other choice I know, but I think KWP is gonna get skinned alive against city. Hope I'm proved wrong.
Let’s see. He got a lot of praise against Villa, but let’s be honest it was a home game against a newly promoted side. This is gonna be his first REAL test. Will he step up or not..

Subs: Gazza, Sanchez, Dier, Aurier, Lamela, Lo Celso, Skipp

Sissoko and Tanguy to make big runs on a counter and feeding Eriksen in the last third who spots the final ball for H or Lucas.

I'm inclined to agree - he was dominating the midfield in the CL quarter-final 2nd leg before he got injured. What a change in CM from last season though!

As much as we (rightly) chastise the diamond, can we also stop playing Moura and Kane together with Moura as a number 9?!

Bit out there but I'd go for this. Using the away game last season (where we should have taken something from the game) as a template.

Lloris

Alderweireld
Sanchez
Vertonghen

Sissoko
Ndombele
Winks
Rose

Eriksen (or Lamela/Dele)

Lucas
Kane

Sissoko at RB to deal with Sterling one on one. I like KWP but I don't think he's ready for arguably the most dangerous player in the league.

City away suits Lucas a lot more in a two than Villa's low block. Could be key as Laporte and Stones don't like pace if exposed. Free role for Eriksen/Lamela, disrupting Rodri and being the key target for the ball in transition.
