Why is it a football man like Neville who sees things from the outside can appreciate him yet there are sections of our fan base who don't?
Because he's delivered what the club needed, rather than playing Santa to the few and fulfilling wishlists.

Loads of Levy praise here. No more than half of it would have been stated out loud or thought if the club hadn't stumbled on Harry Kane. We would never have bought Harry Kane -> long string of misfiring strikers -> Pochettino would have been sacked long ago -> would have been seen as competitors to Everton and Watford or far worse. Shrewd - yes. But also full of dumb luck.

He didn't find Harry Kane but the fact that Harry Kane still plays for us has everything to do with Daniel Levy.

Don’t agree with any of that. We didn’t “stumble” onto Kane. Sherwood and Harry brought him through the ranks as part of a clear youth structure.

If the analysis for the basis of our success is “dumb luck”, then I’d much rather take Levys consistent, clearly defined, carefully financed “dumb luck” that Ed Woodward’s.

Whether or not Harry's career development was luck is a different matter, but Levy is a lucky chap that such a player happened during his reign.
I support the broad strokes of Levy's financial and business management. Period.
But the level of praise today, as in this thread, would not have been half as much without Kane (or a striker like Kane) coming through the ranks.
Either you don't understand how rare it is to develop a player like Kane internally, or you don't understand the concept of "luck".
In an ulterior universe with no Harry Kane, Tottenham Hotspur would have been looking very different today, and fans wouldn't have loved as much on Levy.

Because Neville is a Football fan, as opposed to a Transfer Window fan.

Was it dumb luck that got Utd the Class of 92, or a shrewd recruitment policy with our academy?

As with any business, you better you plan and prepare, the “luckier” you get...

It’s funny just how “lucky” successful people get on such a regular basis hey?
