Lo Celso, in the end he leaves on loan to Tottenham with an 'imaginative' and beneficial compulsory purchase option. Already fly to london

One of the comments (roughly translated) that kind of clarifies how this deal has been structured to avoid Betis paying so much to PSG:

It is good operation cazurros !! 16 million for an assignment (loan I presume) and therefore PSG catches 0 € and the rest up to 57 million more variable next year .. 40 million - 25 = 15 x0.2 = 3 million that the PSG takes and more for the Betis piggy bank.

Don't understand a word of that but if they're saying it's a loan with obligation to buy (hence reducing PSG's total with the sell on fee), then it would make us signing Dybala this summer far more financially viable.

if that's true that is kinda clever to get him on ' loan'
Don't know if psg would take that lying down though, and every club with a player with a sell on clause would start doin it

Great move if true. Will mean we have money left over this window for Dybala, Atal, Messi, Greaves etc.

The overall theory about the loan fee helping Betis seems sound but I can’t for life of me work out all those figures at the end

If this is true, Levy is a fucking genius.

As far as I could tell, we're signing him for 16M and the rest of the deal is in 40M worth of (presumably very easily attained) add-ons, most of which he'll get in the next year.

This means Betis don't need to pay PSG anywhere near as much of the initial share of the sell-on fee, though presumably Betis will have to pay them the rest later, or else they've completely gamed the 'sell on fee' system.

More importantly it means we have more cash to play with right now.

1) What he said was true
2) Really no need to randomly abuse other members of the site because you’re too thick and useless to fact-check something

Sorry, very bad joke on my part. Been at a funeral today and drank too much.

Apologies for any offence caused.

I don’t think it means we saved much money as much as we were able to structure it so Betis could maximize their return.

57M is the fee, 16m the loan

16M comes off the 57 Leaves 41M [Option to buy]
Pay 20 percent of the profit of the sale to PSG above the 25m they paid originally
Leaves 16M x 20 percent [Percentage of next sale]
3.2M to PSG

They are one mil out

Didn’t Herc mention something about GLC coming in and he’ll explain after the window closes why we did what we did? Must be this?

Ah I get it.

16m as an initial loan So PSG get none of that

That leaves 40m. PSG don’t get 20% of the first 25m approx as that’s what Betis paid them for Lo Celso.

That leaves just 20% of 15m for PSG which is 3m

This is bloody smart.
Less sell on for Betis to get the deal done.
Less money up front for us, allowing us to do both GLC/Dybala deals with no immediate reliance on Eriksen cash.
Bloody brilliance.
