Think this pre-season will be the making of Skipp. His performance in the last game of the season against Everton showed that he felt more at ease with his teammates and the pressure of mens football. I hope we avoid getting Ceballos, only to allow Skipp the chance to feature for us. Having Ndombele, Winks, Sissoko, Skipp, Lo Celso (hopefully)and Dier would be a good mix of CMs/DMs in a 3 man midfield. Crazy to think that he's still on 18 and has a wonderful array of experienced CM's to learn from and train with. Wouldn't surprise me if we announce a contract extension for Skipp before they team travels out to Singapore.

I think he'll be better off in an environment where he gets game time competitively and the chance to be an important figure in the first team. Fulham, Huddersfield perhaps, Norwich would be a great move.

I really like him I think he has everything needed to become an important HG squad player. A little rough around the edges and gangly but I like that in him. Skippy has a very promising future but I'd like to see him get genuine minutes this season.

I see where you're coming from. Will be interesting to see how Poch decides to set us up for next season. If he makes a push to move towards 433 of sorts, having all the CM's i listed would theoretically make Skipp's transition into that 3 man midfield that much easier as the newer recruits ( Ndombele and GLC) are solid in both attacking and defensive phases.

I do think he has potential but I really wouldn’t feel confident about him starting a PL game in a 2. It just a massive drop off from Ndombele winks sissoko and even Dier. Personally I don’t think he will be near ready to next season earliest.

Well he's already played PL matches and should potentially have better players around him in a more settled side and he would have gained another year experience, no reason why he'd be any less ready than last season.

Personally, I would love to see Skipp spend a season on loan somewhere where he will play 35 games or more. I think he is a special talent, but just needs the match experience at senior level!

A season under Bielsa at Leeds I think could be amazing for him...

Agreed. A top Championship would be good, a bottom PL wouldn't.

I love the way Skipp plays.
I like Winks but think he is more on the conservative side...Skipp is a bit more industrious but maybe that's what Poch wanted

Fully believe this guy is the reason we havent been linked to any DM at all. This kid is a stud, equally as good on the ball as he is in the tackle and will own that role for spurs and country for years to come.

We also have Harvey White behind him who will also be a first team player.

Clearly now a better option than wanyama and Dier should probably be worried.

Any word on the injury ?

Love seeing the development of our youth players. Really think Skipp has great potential. His game is growing and he showed that today. Game and spatial awareness, comfort with and productive use of the ball, ability to get past players and drive forward with the ball, improved incisive forward distribution of the ball from deep and forward positions.

He’s only 18. Don’t want to see him loaned out. Want to see him develop within the squad, get some game time as a sub, or a starter in some domestic cup games, but overall, benefit from our great coaching system and further his learning from the great players around him. It’s already paying dividends.

If we play the formation we played today then Skipp should be the rotation option at the base of the diamond. He's a better option than Dier and Wanyama there.

Winks, Skipp
Lo Celso, Ndombele
Eriksen, Sissoko
Alli, Lamela

Superb choices for those 4 midfield spots.

He should really get an opportunity, especially if Toby ends up leaving and Dier has to drop back into defence.

It’s worth remembering that last year he was studying for 2 A-Levels!

Absolutely, him and BLF are the two I reckon will be coming through behind Skippy.
Massive fan of BLF he is not getting any bigger yet,I would agree with others that would like to see him fill out a lot more, I am also a Massive fan of Luis Binks who is not the fastest CB but he has been getting faster and there is a lot more to come from him one to watch I think.

Back to Skipp he has done so well I just hope he gets the game time he needs to keep improving.

I rate him. He would be better than winxy soon I believe.( I watched winks and Skipp from when they were at the u18)
Better at tackling than winxy already and he's passing is pretty good and not afraid of going forward.
You can see why poch used him for 90mins today. Hope he is ok after he came off in the end with a slight injury.
