I’m glad he’s gone. He wasn’t good enough anymore and we need to keep improving - there’s no room to be sentimental in such a ruthless industry.

Yes exactly! Only nervose we wont recruit anyone new and therefore beeing stuck with rbs that so far have been back ups to the not good enough rb.

He's getting a lot of love from players at other clubs in the comments.
Not surprised, it’s clear he’s a good guy, bargain over the years he’s been here but now we’re trying to go up a level where I don’t think he’s capable of going , wish him well

Good luck to the guy. He may not have had a good season but the level of stick he took was undeserved. Will be really interesting to see how he does in Spain.

One of my friends is player liasement manager for stuff in the community. She says he is the nicest guy and does more than any other player. She was also telling me what an arse Adebayor was. Turn up hour late and say to the kids don’t worry about school just play football.

What does this actually do to our home grown quota if we are losing 2 English players in trips and rose??? Do we have a problem like a few years back?

We will probably bring in sess and promote a youth gk.
We got rid of llorente, vorm probably janssen and nkoudu.
We should be ok.

See below for homegrown.

Probably means we need a couple of HG replacements but Lilbaz covered that.

I was one of Trippier's louder critics last season, but it was more of a reaction to a certain poster who couldnt accept his flaws.

But in virtually all aspects other than trophies Trippier's time at the club was unimaginably successful and I wish him the best.

Signed for 3.5 million and certainly proved value for money. Whilst he may not have had his best season just gone, his overall performance in the shirt was good and at the time of his signing he was a much needed rocket up Walkers arse.

Weird signing for Athletico though.

Nice message he left, respect him for that. I wish him well and think he may do better in a slower league, thats why he was more better in international matches. He wasnt the chap to take us to the next level, mainly down to consistency, but he has talent for sure. Good luck Tripps,

good luck trippier! (against jo felix in training )

wouldnt be surprised if our most played rb's next season were foyth n kwp . i'd be happy with that. think aurier's absences have pushed him down the line abit.

Good luck to him. It looks like he’s started training already so has been thrown straight into it. I hope he’s a success over there. Will be hard for him as he has a young family and will probably have to live in a hotel, possibly apart from them for a while, which won’t be easy. Off the pitch will be as important for him as on it.

He’s obviously a nice guy, I remember a story about when he joined that he had to be given time off training because he was tired after his kid was born because he was helping his wife out with the new baby in the night. Just like a regular guy. I posted it on here at the time. So he’s obviously quite down to earth.

It was time for us to upgrade in that position but let’s see if we do. I just hope we aren’t repeating the Walker situation where we aren’t replacing like with like or like with better rather than just keeping our fingers crossed and hoping for the best. I guess it depends if we sell Aurier or not. Let’s not pretend the right back spot is 100% sorted though just yet.

KWP didn't need to be included in our 25 man squad last season as he was categorized as an U21 at the time. He has to be included this year though so he takes Trippiers spot. If Rose goes and we replace him with Sessegnon we free up another HG spot as RS doesn't need to be included in the squad yet as he's only 19.

For the non-home grown spots since the start of last season we've lost Vorm & LLorente but added Foyth (now over 21) and Ndombele.

If we sell or others like GKN or Janssen we'll obviously free up another couple of slots.

Di Marzio says we're looking to replace him with either Florenzi or Hysaj, Duncan Castles saying Dani Alves whilst others saying we won't replace him. Hard to know what we're actually going to do.

It only seems like one will come in if Aurier goes too
