Lo Celso is now being linked with a move to Benfica with Grimaldo going the other way. There don't seem to be too many sources reporting it, but it's out there in the Portuguese press.

If there's one thing we've learnt this window (and previous windows), you should never believe a word the Portuguese press report

To think Benfica could match what we've supposedly said we'd pay...lol

They reported this a couple of weeks ago and I am in no way concerned.

They just sold Felix for over €100m!
Expect wages would be more the issue. On a transfer this size I imagine he'd earn £100k a week minimum, which I expect is way out of Benfica's structure if they're at all sensible and not gambling on being in the CL every year against the odds.

What happened to the news that this was extremely close and we wanted to wrap it up by the end of last week. All gone silent it seems

Think the timing of this deal only becomes an issue if eriksen leaves. If he stays there’s less of a sudden burden straight onto Lo celso and he can be bed in over time making pre season slightly less important for him.

Tottenham target Giovani Lo Celso free to leave as Betis close in on Nabil Fekir

Real Betis are close to signing Lyon midfielder Nabil Fekir in a €25 million (£22.6m) deal as a replacement for Tottenham target Giovani Lo Celso.

Fekir, who was on the verge of joining Liverpool last summer before a move collapsed over concerns over an old knee problem, has just one year left on his contract at the Ligue 1 club and is expected to complete a transfer to Betis in the coming days.

Betis and Lyon continue to negotiate the fee for the France international, who turns 26 on Thursday, and his imminent departure will mean Lo Celso is free to leave the Seville-based club.

Standard Sport understands Lo Celso has told Betis he wants to play Champions League football and is keen to link up with compatriot Mauricio Pochettino in north London.

But Spurs face competition from Benfica for the 23-year-old, with the Portuguese giants looking to replace their teenage sensation Joao Felix, who recently moved to Atletico Madrid for €120m.

Betis want €75m for Lo Celso, but Tottenham have not reached that valuation yet and a move to Spurs could depend on Christian Eriksen, with the Dane interesting Real Madrid and also Atletico this summer.

EXCLUSIVE - Mercato - OL: Valencia FC take a stand for Fekir

Posted on 17 July 2019 at 18h30 by Alexandre Higoun

Valencia FC advanced their pieces for a transfer from OL striker Nabil Fekir. The interest is serious.
In recent days, some media have announced that Nabil Fekir could soon take the direction of Spain where several clubs would be interested. The Betis was particularly advertised as a serious destination for Lyon striker. However, the Andalusian club is not alone in the ranks. The Valencia FC has been mentioned among the possible ways Fekir . According to our information, Valencia is indeed a very concrete solution for Fekir .

Soon an offer?
Indeed, the management of FC Valenciahas made recent contacts about the mid-striker OL . The Valencian club offense is serious and it is likely to succeed in the coming weeks. Discussions are held between the different parties. A priori, Nabil Fekir would be interested in the option FC Valencia . In addition, the Spanish club has the financial means to propose a transfer amount likely to convince Olympique Lyonnais (between 30 and 40 million euros) knowing that Fekir has more than one year contract.

Although to counter this, a local Journalist from Valencia says Fekir is their third choice after Thauvin and Lozano
