He seems to be a target for everyone, therefore only 25m is ridiculous, 40m min is more better, 28 yrs old so at his peak too technically, if he goes then we defo need mpre money than 25m for him

The links with Juve were because Cancelo May be leaving which doesn’t seem to be the case any longer.
I actually think Tripps is a good player by the post World Cup hangover and form may have damaged him to carry on here. Having said that if he doesn’t leave I have no problem with him trying to reassert himself having had a summer off. Watched his highlights from the World Cup yesterday and he really was outstanding.

I never said he wasnt a ok to good player, i was talking about value, age, contract length etc ....

PS the International games of WC are skewed a tad, PL is much faster, furious, less time to think , WC he was hardly closed down when forward and majority of the time had no pressing when delivering his crosses. Yes he had had a hangover like many of players alot of that is not proper rest period after WC

When are we allowed to talk about Dani Alves links. Know its really strict in here. Thought this might be a good place but would probably get shouted at

One of the main problems is that he's OK with 3CBs and operating with less defensive responsibilities and better cover, but it doesn't look like we're planning on playing like that much now. In a back 4 he has always been a bit of a liability. He's a decent player in the right system and a poor one in the wrong system.

Seen the links but not from a reliable source and it's one of those articles where about 5 clubs are linked so makes me sceptical. If an outlet comes out with more specific info I'll start a thread.

Guarantee if someone actually offered 25 we would accept it.

If mings is worth 20m and wan bissaka 50m, why would we accept 25m for Trippier, one below par season where he has played the majority of games for a top 4 CL team, keeping both a 20m rb and one of the most promising youth players we have out of the team.

I understand why spurs would be open to offers given his age, but to sell him for such a low value (current market prices) is ridiculous.

The same could be said for rose (apart from the below par bit)

I know he has become the new jenas on here but he is still our first choice rb as things stand.

On a side note, I would be very surprised if he goes abroad, just doesn't seem the type.

And as for the alves links or lack there of, why would we sign a 36 year old on (what i imagine will be) astronomical wages who is a complete and utter ball bag.

Great player though. I'd take him but there's no way we will pay the wages he would want. It might just be that I'm in my 30's now but the constant harping on player's ages gets on my nerves (not having a go at you specifically, it's pretty widespread everywhere).

If the contract is right and the player is good enough don't see any issue with taking a player in his late 20's or 30's. Someone will get Alderweireld in his early 30's with no fee next summer (most likely) - an absolute touch even if you pay his 150K.

The fact is loads of players have done the business at the highest levels well into their 30's and, often, these players are the difference between a squad that wins trophies and one that falls short because of their experience and attitude. I personally think this is something we have missed at times.

I agree with you about the age thing, Trippier, Toby and rose being prime examples. Although we are talking 6 years older than toby.

But more importantly he is a complete tool, and i would hate to support a team with his type in it.

On top of that he needs to accustom himself to pochs rigorous training regime, the epl and the physical demands that takes especially for a full back. No chance we we risk it imo.

Trippier is now 1/5 to join Atletico on SkyBet. Seems like some decent money has been placed on that.

I'd personally put money on him still being on the team next season at this point. How can we not sell anyone?!

To be fair look at the other top 6 teams particularly Manchester Utd (who need massive clear out of players) how many players have they all sold so far this summer?
I think we are still seeing the effect of the premier league transfer window closing early
Compared to rest of Europe
