Anyway, this is a belated post but Daktronics put up a short overview on their work with the stadium. If you want to see close-ups of the screens and stuff, this might be something you need to watch. Otherwise, there’s nothing new to see.

Also, while I can’t track down the original article from Gazzeto dello Sport, this article (in Italian) claims that Inter is looking to draw from our stadium for inspiration for the San Siro rebuild they’re doing together with AC Milan (with LA Live being the inspiration for the entertainment district on the site of the old San Siro).

It’s crazy thinking about just how seminal our stadium build has been if this article is true, especially considering how recent the whole build process was. To think that we’ve made such an impression on Inter’s management after that one test event. Crazy.

I think everyone will be copying our stadium who are building new ones. But what is more likely is clubs trying to amend their current stadiums in some way to replicate our supporter match day experience. There is so much money to be made there. We will have to keep ours evolving, if they do, to keep ahead.

Not just a match day experience , supporters can now look forward to lunch in the M cafe , do a stadium tour , visit the shop , museum soon available and then to top it all off the ultimate experience doing a full shop with the missus in Sainsburys.

With the greatest of respect, why post a link which is not in English, or at least have a translation. i know fuck all about Italian and I think I have now missed out on an interesting article.

Translation of the Italian article using Google translate.

The new San Siro is born above all from the need of Inter and Milan to increase revenues, it is not a mystery. "If we want to compete at the top in Europe we need a system like this", admits Paolo Scaroni. So then - reads the Gazzetta dello Sport - within the 60-65 thousand seats of the new stadium, 12 thousand will be «corporate», ie VIPs and therefore very dear to the fans and advantageous for the clubs. Today at San Siro there are only 3 thousand. One of the models that will inspire the new plant is the ultra-modern Tottenham Stadium, inaugurated by Inter Legends in April and cost the Spurs € 1.2 billion. the inspiration for the entertainment area, instead, comes from LA Live, the set of restaurants, bars and theaters built around the Staples Center in Los Angeles, home to Lakers and Clippers among others. "But then we will do it our way - explains Antonello -, because the stadium will have to fall into Italian reality".

For the construction of the new district of San Siro, in which 80 million will also be spent for public infrastructures, two phases are planned: the first, - explains the rosy - of 36 months, will lead to the construction of the stadium, which will be of very high quality , will guarantee maximum safety and will not have architectural barriers; the second, which lasts another 36 months, involves the demolition of the Meazza (where the teams will continue to play during the works of the other plant) and the construction of the entire extra area, namely restaurants, bars, shops, spaces for live events. If everything goes as it should ("And it will be so, because we are in Milan", adds Scaroni), the new home of Inter and Milan will open the 2026 Olympics.

Saw on GLC thread someone mentioned Tifo films about our stadium. Is that £25m per season figure is confirmed?

Seems a shame to lose such an iconic stadium, but anyone who's been to San Siro will tell you it's falling apart and in need of a revamp. Especially with regard to making money given the lack of corporate facilities as mentioned in the article. I guess ultimately it's probably cheaper and easier to just knock it down and build a new one, rather than to try and shoehorn a new stadium into the old exterior, as much as it's a shame.

I do wonder who is funding this all though. As is fairly common in Italy, the stadium is actually owned by the city and just rented to Milan and Inter, so is the city funding the rebuild or are the clubs putting up some of the money in exchange for part ownership or something like that I wonder...?

As a side note, I do wonder if this sort of thing is a direct response to what's been happening in the PL. By that I mean the TV deals we've been getting for the past few years mean that even our mid-table clubs are generating more money than even some of the traditionally big teams around Europe. There's been a number of new stadium projects touted over the past few years around Spain, Italy and France in particular so I wonder if that's a direct response to try and make more money from thei matchday revenue to bridge the financial gap with the PL clubs more?

A Planning Application was submitted yesterday to go to 62,200,

http://www.planningservices.haringey...et?PKID=373800

The seating bowl has been the subject of a final review in conjunction with Building Control and the final as-built
seating layout has added a small number of seats. There has also been a minor design change to the south stand
gangways that enabled a small increase in capacity and a reassessment of the sightlines from seats located
behind the large video screens to the north stand upper tier. All of these have contributed to the additional
seats. The additional capacity has been checked against egress principles set out in the Green Guide 5th Edition
and has been agreed with Building Control.

Doesn't show where the new seats are but great news!

Went to see the place today with my bro.

It’s pretty spectacular.

Unfortunately the shop just closed as we got there, so couldn’t go in.

Oddly enough we had a stadium tour at Wembley today, and we decided to go to White Hart Lane afterwards.

NWHL is better. It’s pretty epic when you’re walking down Seven Sisters road and it comes into view above the buildings.

It’s been a while since I’ve been to Tottenham. How many hairdressers and barbers are there?!!! Haha.

It is a cracker isn't it, do you think you'll be able to get to a game this season?
