I've always wondered how often do the clubs actually make contact with each other to negotiate. Is it a case of Levy phoning their chairman and going over details once, twice, a dozen times before progress is made? Or do they deliberately not phone each other for days to see if someone will cave in first.

For example, when i've put a bid in on a house - i'll give my offer via the estate agent and hear back within five minutes to be told it's not accepted; i then give another offer straight away via the estate agent and it goes back and forth like that until we meet in the middle. @Trix or someone else care to explain how protracted negotations are or aren't?

Thanks in advance

It's apparently all done via whatsapp. Some one posted a quite in depth article about it a year or ago.

Being a football fan is such a weird experience. I’m a 32 year old with kids, mortgage, wife, etc. Yet I’m constantly refreshing a thread (and feeling nervous) about a player who ive never seen play as the wisdom of the masses says he could be a vital to us taking the next step. Incredible when you think about it objectively

There's the mistake, don't think about it just remember how good it makes you feel.

You have to remember that there’s barely a handful of people on here that have seen him play 10 plus games too. That’s being conservative as well.

There must be a correlation between the impatience shown and the relatively new posters on this site.

The more interesting thing is nobody bothered trying to analyse the way the Ndombele transfer panned out, how it was reported, style of ITK we was getting, the moments of silence and try and learn from that and not piss the bed at every moment. No transfers are the same but you get a rough idea of when things are truly going south.

Our interest in both Lo Celso and Ceballos is being discussed on Sky Sport news now, in a very positive way. Michaël Bridges, one of the panel members (no idea who he is) is egging this move to come through. He seems also to know a bit about both.

Doesn't help that the press in France are so much better informed and keen to rehash updates, even if nothing had changed. I must have read so many update pieces on Ndombele, I was getting sick of them by the end!

Michael Bridges is a Spurs fan so he has a vested interest :)
