I've always wondered how often do the clubs actually make contact with each other to negotiate. Or do they deliberately not phone each other for days to see if someone will cave in first.

For example, when i've put a bid in on a house - i'll give my offer via the estate agent and hear back within five minutes to be told it's not accepted; i then give another offer straight away via the estate agent and it goes back and forth like that until we meet in the middle. @Trix or someone else care to explain how protracted negotations are or aren't?

The more interesting thing is nobody bothered trying to analyse the way the Ndombele transfer panned out, how it was reported, style of ITK we was getting, the moments of silence and try and learn from that and not piss the bed at every moment. No transfers are the same but you get a rough idea of when things are truly going south.
