Post your best XI for upcoming season, with or without Eriksen.

Mine is:

Lloris
Trippier-Alderweireld-Vertonghen-Rose
Lucas-Sissoko-Ndombele-Son
Dele
Kane

I think the potential departure of Eriksen might 'straigten' us up and allow us to get better service out wide by playing two wingers.

We know that when Eriksen and Dele is in the same lineup, one of them starts wide but they don't really stay there. They both want to be central. Rather than a like for like replacement for Eriksen, maybe his replacement is already in the squad in Lucas? We saw what he can do in UCL.

Add LoCelso/Ceballos to that and we have CM depth again.

Depends who we are playing, for example I wouldn’t have Sissoko and Ndombele against teams outside the top 6 at home.

Lloris
Trippier Toby Vertonghen Rose
Winks
NDombele Eriksen
Dele
Kane Son

This is where I felt we slipped up last season.

Adjusting for our opponents.

We should adjust for no-one (within reason). Our best or most in form team should always be picked. Let the opposition worry about us. We did it for City and Liverpool at home this season and lost in the league.

City came to WHL in the CL and set up to counter anything we did. Poch picked his best XI and we won the game.

I could not disagree more. My point is we do not have a best XI. Playing Wanyama, Sissoko and NDombele in a midfield 3 would be fairly redundant against a team that plays 4-5-1and park the bus. In that event we need more creative players. Likewise, having a midfield 3 with lots of creativity and no physical presence or transition capability would be suicide away against a top 4 rival. It really is a case of horses for courses.

Where we fell down last season was Poch did not have options to pick the right team due to injury, world cup fatigue but mainly - lack of squad depth in midfield. In most games it was a case of Sissoko + whoever is fit in CM.

havent seen enough of him yet but if Ndombele becomes our Fernandinho then im hoping we can put out some very attacking teams next season.

Lloris
KWP Toby Verts Rose
Winks Ndombele
Eriksen
Son Kane Dele
But Moura could come in for Son or Dele
Same with Sissoko and Winks.
As long as its not Trippier at RB, I wouldn't be against Aurier and KWP this season at RB if we can't get anyone better in.

I'd like us to try a 4-3-3 but Alli is always shite when he plays as a wide forward - never beats his man and makes endless runs down blind alleys. Would have to be either Lucas, Eriksen or someone like Lo Celso in that spot.

Ali is expendable, if we can sell him for £60+ it would be a profit. He lacks the technique and composure to play for us.

But as a home grown player, can we replace him with someone better?

We can't keep getting rid of good home grown or club trained players as we will limit the squad depth.

I wouldn't go that far. He's an exceptional talent but is one of those awkward players that almost needs a team built around him to be at his best. When he's playing instinctively, as he was a couple seasons back, his technique and composure are both second to none and he scores for fun. He's lost his way a bit but we shouldn't write him off.

Personally, I'd like to see him play off Kane like he did in 16/17 which just so happened to be our best PL season ever.

Stopped reading at Trippier.
