Toby if you've got to go away
I don't think
I can take the pain
Bought you Tanguy Ndombele
Christian don't leave me alone like this
Don't say it's the final kiss
Bought you Tanguy Ndombele

We need better songs, but more importantly we have to sort out the 'white wall'. Imo it has been a let down so far.
Something must be done to generate a real wall of noise, so far it's just a large terrace, a let down.

Exactly the point of my post. We need a campaign "Weaponise the Wall"

Btw as much as 'He's Magic, You Know' is THE Poch song, it's not exactly easy to keep going and doesn't get the stadium rocking, it's more of a 'thank you' to him imo

I haven't been to a game live for a few years so don't know if it's been tried, or indeed anyone would want to try it but i've always thought you could easily keep a Poch chant going longer and louder if it was to the tune of I Just Cant Get Enough i.e 'Poch, Poch, Pochettino - Poch, Poch, Pochettino - Poch, Poch, Pochettino - POCH -ET - TINO'. Basic but easy. And i apologise if it's really really shit and i'm the only one who doesn't think so

I misread your post and just spent far longer than I care to admit trying to fit "Poch Poch Pochettino" to the tune of "Don't Stop till You Get Enough" :sour:

Honestly I remember the whole stadium chanting MArtin Jol's Blue and White army for the entire half of a game against Sevilla years back.
SImple but thunderous.

I think the cleverer, more wordy chants easily lose momentum when it comes to creating 'wall of sound'. You need something that you can drop in and out of without being counted in.

Absolutely. I was through the Martin Jol era and his chant always got the ground rocking (as did the drummer). For insults, i always like the more cleverly worded chants - i hate us singing 'you're fukcing sh1t' (unless it's to Arsenal, as anything is then acceptable...and it's true now)

To the tune of 'Bat out of hell'

Like an Alderweireld I'll be gone when the summer comes
When the season is over like an Alderweireld I'll be gone gone gone
Like an Alderweireld I'll be gone when the summer comes!
But when the window's done
And no club has come
With a great big offer for you,
It'll be 'Mr Levy, Please Forgive Me,
I'm crawling back to you, you, You!'

Think we lost our singing ability when we lost our religion. Used to be that everyone was used to singing together in church and it would transfer to the terraces.

I'm not sure about that. I can't be arsed to do the research but I reckon it was probably well before the WWII the last time the majority of the population attended church regularly. Even lower among the working classes who historically made up the fans on the terraces. We stopped going to church long before the atmosphere in stadiums fell flat.

Far more likely down to fans being generally older and/or more well-to-do because of the exclusive price of tickets nowadays combined with over-zealous 'elf 'n safety measures that have been introduced over the years as part of the crackdown on hooliganism, which has overstepped its mark and just blanket punishes all fans instead.

Plus I definitely think there's something to be said for fans not being able to identify with the players any more. The whole world of professional footballers is such a bubble that we're completely shut off from and they lead lifestyles that are just completely unrelatable to most people. Maybe only subconciously, but it's much easier to get behind passionately behind a local lad done good who you see around town in the local community every now and then, than it is to get behind some twat millionaire 20-year-old who's lived his whole life in a bubble and has no concept of what ordinary people are like. Not talking about us specifically, but football in general I think has suffered from that. And it's one of the reasons why when you do have a local boy done good i.e. someone like Kane, it means so much more to the fans. Especially if, like Kane, they seem to have a good head on their shoulders and are fairly down to earth (relatively) rather than the likes of that bellend Jesse Lingard.

Baffles me how this isn't replicated for Poch. Seems our nouveau fans are too busy recording themselves on their phones and our gillet wearing classic fit wrangler adorning brexiteers from Chingford are too pissed and tired to bother.
