Although he’s got all the attributes to be a great player for us, in some ways the player is irrelevant - this represents something much bigger. This is Tottenham acting like a big club: agreeing to pay what is necessary to get the manager’s target. Whisper it, but this could be the change we’ve been waiting for; this could be pure, unadulterated, incontestable ambition.

Don’t want to be a pedant, but he can’t be a “complete midfielder” if he doesn’t score goals. Which is why I really hope we continue pursuing another attacking midfielder as well in this window.

Although like everyone I’m very pleased if we can get this done as he’s just what we need from the little I have seen of him.
As I’ve always said this is who we need. When we lost mousa dembele it was a massive blow and we were missing that critical player.

If there’s any player I want to see in a spurs shirt next season it would be this rare talent. He ticks every single box for us and is exactly what Poch likes. He’s young, talented and what we have been missing since dembele’s departure, that box to box midfielder that can hold up the play, turn and drive forward with the ball to set up Kane, son, dele and Lucas. This is who we need to make a statement to the others in the premier league and the world and prove we are title contenders

He is the player to fill that hole, he will be our complete midfielder with the attacking force he has around him already.

It does seem like we've allowed Lyon time to get their replacement. It may be the same for Betis as well. If that's the case we're handling our deals extremely well so far this summer.

Imagine we sign Ndombele and he turns out to be shit though.

It’s going to take a while to wrap my head around the fact that we may have just signed the worlds most promising midfielder.

My word supporting this club has been an absolute pleasure the past few months.
