Yeah probably true, and not much more than whatever the current bid is. From a page or so back they have that Camerasa guy back from Cardiff that looked decent, and they are closing in on two other attackers. GLC played most games as #10 for Betis I believe so could well be replacements.

Another thing to consider is that they're a midtable/relegation threat club, who don't have much of a history of large net spends.

Check out their last 5 seasons on wiki starting with 18/19 and you'll see what I mean:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2018–19_Real_Betis_season

They were even in La Liga 2 in the 14/15 season.

To be honest, I think they need the money.

He isnt a 60m quid player right now. Betis are having a wank. They should put the jar of vaseline away and get serious.

To be spending out, 100%. That would suggest they need to maximise fees for Lo Celso or Carvalho though.

Seems this one has quietened down a bit. Not so much concerned but is a little strange considering the Ndombele transfer seems to be gaining legs

It's because one player is on international duty whereas the other has just finished international duty.

The dynamics of this have changed a bit I reckon

They seems to be asking for silly money
Eriksen might stay
I think there are potentially alternatives

It's subtly different to the Ndombele situation where we really, really need him. They need to stop acting like dicks here or it'll fall over

We kind of still need him, we need extra creativity even if Eriksen stays, if Eriksen goes that essentially means 2 players say Lo Celso and if Eriksen goes to RM maybe try and get Isco from RM the other way as competition or something. If we keep Eriksen then just Lo Celso would be good.

Although I take the point that Ndombele is the prime requirement above all others. If Lo Celso ends up too much money then hopefully we have alternatives, Ndombele though I can’t imagine what the alternative would be.

I’d rather we bought Lo Celso rather than keep Eriksen now as we’d have tied a playmaker down for the long term. Eriksen might stay but I can’t see him signing a new long term deal. If he does then fine but in any other scenario we need Lo Celso.

Personally, I still doubt this is a priority (rightly or wrongly) unless Eriksen leaves. Realistically I just cant see that kind of outlay on another option, but hope to be wrong.

I don't think it was a coincidence that this quietened when Real decided to chase Pogba. I genuinely believe that if Eriksen was their priority it would have moved on pretty quick with Madrids intent this window, hence the early move for GLC.

I know people will say we need extra creativity to add to Eriksen...I just doubt it comes in the form of a 70mil international, no matter the budget etc.

That’s what I’ve been saying all along but there’s quite a few people who don’t want to believe it.

I sincerely hope we are trying to sign GLC regardless, which Herc's latest ITK has indicated.

Eriksen is simply not enough to reply on throughout a tough long season. When he isn't on his game, which happens far more than many like to admit, our creativity is terrible.

If we are looking to properly go for it, we need GLC AND Ndombele.

If we think about it, our priority areas are CM, ACM and RB.

If Ndombele costs circa 60 mill, are we seriously saying we don't have the funds to sign another player in a priority area for another circa 60 million? Our transfer budget must be about 150 million by now before we then have to start spending what we make from player sales /balancing the books.

We've haven't spent a penny in 18 months, which is why I believe we can make two major signings in GLC and Ndombele this summer.

I honestly do not believe that signing purely Ndombele (if it happens) as our sole major acquisition this window is enough to satisfy Poch's ambition. it would be pretty lame if you ask me, and not a statement of intent for next season.

But sign the two of them and keep Eriksen, and we are cooking.

I think it's quitened down because he's on INTL duty, and we made a good offer. Betis are hoping for a better offer but when it doesn't happen, will come back to us with their tail between their legs. No way can Betis afford to turn down 60 odd million.

Ndombele, Lo Celso, Eriksen and Lamela allows us to match up with City and De Bruyne, Silva, Bernardo and Foden.

Lucas, Alli and Son match up with Mahrez, Sane and Sterling too.

Therefore we SHOULD have quality rotation and strength to compete. Not saying it's enough to win but the thought of those attacking options gives a lot of positivity.
