Now the papers have turned their attention to the dead pilot to discredit him. I saw one headline sayin he was colour blind and another that he wasn’t qualified to fly at night. The papers are just scum really, let the poor man’s family live their lives and not have to deal with these shitty stories, true or not.
Sorry, it may be harsh, but in cases like this it's important we get to the truth. Regardless of what the agent, charter company etc did, the pilot himself clearly had a role too. Ultimately he must have known that he was unqualified to fly at night, that as a colour-blind person he never would be qualified and that it was fundamentally dangerous, and yet he chose to do so anyway - taking a risk not just with his own life, but also somebody else's (not to mention a £15m asset, which is of course far less important but still has repurcussions as we're seeing). It's very hard to see how he doesn't bare at least a portion of the responsibility, and the fact that the worst did happen and he lost his own life too doesn't change that.

Frankly I don't see it as being much different to a drunk driver who gets in an accident and kills himself as well as a passenger. Just because he's died wouldn't stop everyone from pointing out that he'd been an absolute muppet.

How would the Agent know the pilot was colour blind and shouldn’t fly at night ?

They were mates I thought?

I don't think so. I read that McKay specifically requested another pilot, but that guy wasn't available so the job got passed on to this dodgy pilot. So if anything, I would assume his mate was the pilot he requested originally. As far as I've heard, he didn't know the pilot who ended up taking the job.

But your assuming those two things are true. The papers have said so but there’s been no proof. It’s just part of the shit throwing that’s now going around. And if enough is thrown in a particular direction then it will stick. I don’t know what degree of blame is apportioned to him b the pilot is the easiest target.

Some despicable **** took photos of his body in the morgue and posted them online.

I also think out of respect YouTube should remove his last recorded voice message / phone call. You have to be some kind of sicko to keep wanting to hear things like that.

The police have made an arrest.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-48694561

A man has been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter in relation to the death of Argentine footballer Emiliano Sala who died in a plane crash.

The striker, who had signed with Cardiff City, was killed in the crash along with pilot David Ibbotson.

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said a 64-year-old man from North Yorkshire had been arrested and released while investigations continue.

The force added the families of the two men who died had been informed.

Looking at the age it's not the agent.
