I am excited by what I see and really hope we can get this one over the line. Looks like we want to use him in the Dembele role of breaking the lines in midfield and bringing the wider players like Son and Moura into play.
He looks lethal in the upper 2/3 of the field, but maybe not as effective as Dembele was on the edge of our own penalty box.

It makes sense for DL to do a deal like this asap. He's not stupid, he knows we can't afford to let the momentum slip away. He will have noted how the squad stagnated last season.

Hopefully he can get it over the line, and not get played at the 11th hour by the agent, as seems to frequently be the case in big players we go after.

We have to show intent in the transfer market and that means buying first choice options money slapped down no questions shake hands move onto the next. Already I’m not happy with the trickles of media info coming out about us being in negotiations, the information I’d prefer seeing and a show to the world is deal signed sealed delivered .

Now how you gonna go from witnessing 2 windows without a single signing at all, to expectations of ludicrous spending?

Get real. You and everyone. We aren't suddenly going out and spending over £100m net.

What am I getting real about. We were CL finalist we've built one of the best stadiums in world football certainly within Europe. We have acquired substantial prize money from various participations. It's not ludicrous for us to expect a top signing.

Well we got something like £87m for being finalists so I would expect that to be spent on players on top of what was already allocated.

You expect us to spend at least 87m on new players, do you? You know DL never has a budget in mind for new contracts...

It's like people have conveniently forgotten the last 20 years of transfers.

We may buy a couple of expensive players. But be sure that if we do, it will be offset by departures.
We are not going to go from 30m net spend in 5 years to hundreds of millions in one window.
I dont care if we got £1bn from tv rights. It ain't gonna happen.

Just pointing out the obvious. People really seem to go window to window forgetting about the last one.
They point to us getting more money than ever before, but that's the case every single year. TV rights go up. Sponsorship deals get bigger. We go from no Europe, to Uefa Cup, to Champions league. We have more income every year than the last.

We are not a club that will suddenly spend hundreds of millions with no sales to offset it.
It's likely to be Eriksen, isn't it? May be more, Trippier, Dier, who know's.
And the squad arguably needs it. Few out, few hungrier players in.

If only it was that simple. ITK has said that we've asked Lyon how much they want for Ndombele on 2 occasions and have agreed their figure and each time they've come back and bumped the price up. Aulas is playing Levy at his own game by the sound of it and probably relishing every minute of it bearing in mind their previous encounters.

While i tend to, in the main, agree with what you say here we have to remember that the regular huge increase in income that the stadium will now give us could be a game changer. But that still be a way off as we are still paying for it at present.

How much was given to the players in bonuses?
How much did wembley cost?
How much did the stadium cost?

Don't 'expect' or there will be a very good chance you will be disappointed.

Got to pay for it as well. The income we make won't be 100% for some time.
