If he only re-signs because no one else wants him, do we want someone begrudgingly playing within himself and being paid a shedload of money for that? Selling him and reinvesting wisely might be a better option...

I don't think he'll sign a new contract begrudgingly, all footballers would aspire to Barca/Real but not many will get the opportunity.

I also believe his view of the club (as with most people in football) may have changed drastically over the season with the stadium and CL final.
If we can get the 4 or 5 bodies in whilst he signs a new contract he must fancy his chances of achieving his ambitions with us.

Hope he stays, will improve so much with better players around him, if we bring them in. Should also be a lot better with more rotation, no summer football and not being run into the ground. Anyone wanting rid should have a look at some of the others that need showing the door long b4 eriksen is.

Let's be honest. If he signs a new deal, we will all be delighted.
Head turned or not, the champions league semi final and final were probably the biggest game of his club career. It would have meant something to him. I am sure he gave it his best effort.

C'mon CE, sign that deal.

It never fails to surprise me the amount of people who can’t see the fact he’s missed Dembele this season. We should be aiming for more technical players to help get the best out of him and our attackers.

Yeah, in my opinion, we've never really fully recovered from losing Modric. Dembele covered over the cracks somewhat because he could hold onto the ball. He couldn't distribute like Modric but others took care of that aspect of the void. Now, we don't really have anyone to hold on to the ball in midfield and let's face it, that ain't Eriksen's game. Should we find someone like NDombele who can fill that role, Eriksen may be free to do what he does best.

Harry Kane had two ankle ligament injuries and Dele got had hamstring injuries and two broken bones in his hand. I'm not sure how many games Kane missed but Dele missed around about 20 games in a 55 or so game season.

I don't actually think Eriksen had a bad season, he just wasn't his sparkling self much like a lot of the other players who had a few days of preseason with us before the season started (Eriksen had a couple of weeks compared to the few days the likes of Lloris, Rose, Dele, Dier, Vertonghen, Alderweireld, Trippier Kane and Dembele did by the way)

Edit - Dele missed 20 games through different injuries this season, Kane missed 18. Big time out that would have played its part on their goals and assist returns.

Read the whole thread. It takes all that into account.

If no one else wants him means we won’t have a buyer willing to pay a fee making it worthwhile to sell him and reinvest in a suitable alternative. He signs a new contract he’ll be motivated for sure. I still believe when CE played well he made Spurs tick. A fabulous footballer whether he stays or goes.

Think none of us will be too surprised to see that eriksen is the biggest offender on corners. 66% hitting the first man

Am I the only one that will be seriously chuffed if he signs a new contract? That’s looking the most likely at this point.

If we can field a team with the qualities of Eriksen, N’Dombele, Lo Celso, Son and Kane I will moon Sue from Londis every second Monday of the new season
