There’s no actual quotes from the player . All this “ we understand “ means nothing unless there is anything from the player or either club involved.

Not trying to piss on your picnic old boy . Just saying !

How often do you see quotes from the player involved in these situations?

Very rarely.

Tim Vickery talking about Lo Celso

Tim Vickery talking about Paulinho :cautious:

talkSPORT's man in South America Tim Vickery tells Mike Graham about Spurs' latest acquisition Paulinho.

The Brazil international is close to sealing a £17m move to Tottenham, according to his current club Corinthians.

The midfielder held a press conference on Monday, one day after lifting the Confederations Cup with his country, to announce he has played his final match for the Sao Paulo club, amid weeks of speculation about a possible move to White Hart Lane.

And Vickery claims the north London club are getting a superb player who will grace the Premier League for many years to come.

Would be great if we could sign this lad AND keep Eriksen.

It would push the Dane to perform at a higher level and also give us options in the number 10 role. If one of them is injured, needs a rest or is out of form, the other can come in, etc.

Playing alternating front lines of Harry/Son/Eriksen/Alli and Llorente/Lamela/Lo Celso/Lucas would be pretty relentless for our opponents.

Possibly throw in a certain Welsh wizard into the mix and we would be a tsunami of attacking talent (y)

Not a chance we are spending 60m+ on Eriksen's back-up.

'Big clubs' don't buy back ups, they buy alternative options. That's how we must think from now on.
Yes, but we're not going to spend 60-70m on an 'alternative option' when we're going to 100% need a RB and CM, with the latter costing a similar amount.

I think we may well do.
I think Eriksen's almost certain to leave but hey ho.

I know this is all pie in the sky but I wonder if Eriksen’s potential move to Real will in part facilitate something happening with Bale.

Won't sort out the wages issue. I'm sure Madrid would agree a loan deal right now but it wouldn't solve that problem. I don't think we'd spend more than 200k a week for Bale's wages, and I doubt Madrid would be willing to pay 400k a week wages for a player at another club.

On Trix's info this morning, Betis showing plenty of face and looks good to their fans but the fact he is keen and the money it would bring to them - seems like a deal to be done. Hopefully the cash is fronted for a deal to be struck.

Real Betis aren't even playing in the Europa League next season. I don't think they can't afford to keep him.

We need to find a way to get players to kick off in order to join us like Berbatov, Modric, Bale etc did when they wanted to take a step up. Winning the CL tonight would be a good place to start.

Sorry, but fuck that! That's everything I hate about football these days. I know we have suffered from it in the examples that you have shown, but doing it ourselves just makes us as bad as the sugar daddy clubs who think they have a divine right to pick whoever they want from the peasants beneath them.

I've seen posts in here assuming that, for example, Palace should just role over and stop messing about with "silly" valuations of AWB and Zaha.......why should they? They are their players and maybe if we had dug in a bit more previously, we wouldn't have been looked at as easy pickings for the so called bigger teams above us.

There will always be a hierarchy in football, just the nature if the beast. But what makes English football so special is the lower teams that we still all know from the 4th division....it sets it apart from every other league in the world and it's important in my mind that that pyramid is always sustained so we do see players rise through the ranks. They will all get their moves but hopefully not through downing tools, being a brat, and kicking up a fuss cos that is just a shit way of ensuring we end up with a few teams at the top with squads full of the best players, some of whom, will never play because the riches of being on a bench at United outweigh the dream of just playing every week like their 7 year old selves dreamed of.

Sorry for going off on a tangent there but I just despise that "kick up a fuss" attitude.
